LIVING LIFE TO THE FULLEST: The Ultimate Quest In our relentless pursuit of the fountain of youth, we must acknowledge the enigmatic nature of our existence. We don't know how long we will live, and the mystery of life's duration lingers like a mist over the future. The uncertainty of our journey should serve as a poignant reminder that life, in all its transient glory, is meant to be lived to the fullest. Studies conducted by the Greater Good Science Centre at the University of California, Berkeley, delve into the profound facets of living a fulfilling life. They reveal that happiness and well-being are intrinsically linked to our sense of purpose, our social connections, and our ability to savour life's precious moments. In Deepak Chopra's book "Perfect Health," the acclaimed author and physician underscores the importance of holistic well-being. He emphasises that true health and longevity are not mere products of diet and exercise but a reflection of the harmony between body, mind, and spirit. To live life to the fullest, we must embrace our innermost desires and aspirations, nurturing the spirit and the mind just as we nourish the body. The quest for eternal youth may continue to beckon us with its tantalising promises, and our fascination with ageing's mysteries is unlikely to wane. From the wisdom of the blue zones to the potential of molecular manipulations, and the infusion of technology into healthcare, we find ourselves on an extraordinary journey towards a longer, healthier life. Yet, amidst all these revelations and advancements, the ultimate truth remains: the duration of our life is a question mark, and it's one that we may never answer definitively. So, the best way to live becomes, not in the pursuit of endless years, but in the pursuit of an ageless spirit. To understand what truly makes us happy, what matters most to us, and what we wish to achieve in our lifetime, is to unlock the essence of living. As we stand at the crossroads of scientific discoveries and the wisdom of ancient cultures, we find that the fountain of youth is not a distant, elusive dream. It resides within us, waiting to be discovered in our quest for meaning, purpose, and the fullness of life. In the end, it's not the years we count but the moments we cherish, and the joy we find in the journey of living. In this enigmatic dance with time, let us remember that the most profound secret of all is the one that has been within us all along. The true fountain of youth is not an elixir but a perspective—a way of seeing, feeling, and experiencing life that transcends the boundaries of age. It's in this ageless spirit that we discover the key to unlocking the timeless essence of our existence.

TO DINE IN DELHI The Imperial Steeped in history, The Imperial is an iconic hotel, and the first to have opened its doors in New Delhi in 1936. It’s a must-visit establishment that exudes a 19th-century Indian palace ambiance, and boasts excellent restaurants. With your stay at the Imperial, you’d get to indulge in their brilliant breakfast, featuring local classics such as curries, coconut chutneys, and dosa, alongside Western favourites. Don't miss the dining experience at ‘1911.’ I started with the epitome of crisp, light poppadom’s with fresh mint yogurt and sweet mango chutney, followed by large, juicy Kerala prawns with a yellow chili-ginger marinade, spiked with ajiwain. Then my favourite - the unusual ‘nargisi kofta’ - golden farm eggs coated with seasoned lamb mince on a bed of punchy spiced tomato and onion gravy. Finally, for dessert, I recommend their gulab jamun cheesecake.

Chache Di Hatti Translating to ‘uncle's corner shop,’ Chache Di Hatti is a low-key yet incredibly popular hole-in-the-wall eatery run by Kawal Kishore Saluja and his family in New Delhi. They specialise in a dish that is synonymous with Delhi - Chole Bhature - essentially fried flatbread known as ‘bhature,’ served with a hearty chickpea curry or ‘chole.’ Do not be deterred by the queues lined up outside - that’s down to their secret spice mix. A family recipe that’s been handed down to Kawal Kishore by his father, this renowned spice makes the chickpea curry a winner. They’ve been serving up plates of Chole Bhature since 1957 and it looks set to continue for a good while yet. They enjoy serving extra portions of freshly baked bread, although, as delicious as it was, I had to restrain myself from indulging too much!
