The Fiesta Sports Foundation is committed to supporting organizations that contribute to the success of their communities through youth, sports and education.

OUR MISSION
The Fiesta Sports Foundation is home to the premier College Football Playoff postseason game, the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, the annual Big Ten vs. Big 12 matchup at the Rate Bowl and multiple year-round live sports and entertainment events that fuel our mission to deliver positive economic impact and charitable resources that benefit communities across the state of Arizona through world-class sporting events, unparalleled hospitality and life-changing community impact.

“For more than five years, we have been saying that we are, ‘More Than Just a Game’ to exemplify what we do, why we do it and who we do it for. While we are extremely proud that the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl is our flagship event, it is also vital to our growth that our Foundation accurately and powerfully tell the incredible stories of all of our events, experiences and the remarkable work that our thousands of volunteers and staff do to support communities across Arizona.”
“As we continue to innovate, we want to ensure that when you see the Fiesta Sports Foundation brand it reflects the full scope of our activities and why and how we deliver impact. Communities know when they engage with us, they will experience first-class events and world-class hospitality while helping to deliver valuable resources back into Arizona communities. The Foundation brand shares the breadth and depth of our presence in college football, community engagement programs, fun-filled events and charitable giving.”

FIESTA SPORTS FOUNDATION
As the Fiesta Bowl Organization approached a pivotal moment in its history, it became clear that its organizational brand needed to evolve, not just to reflect its present but to characterize its deeper purpose for the future. The Organization has always been known for delivering unforgettable college football experiences, engaging and unique events, celebrity-hosted celebrations, youth sports opportunities and wide-reaching community impact.
The brand refresh to Fiesta Sports Foundation was more than a name change, it is about
alignment. Through a comprehensive brand evaluation, the Foundation uncovered perceptions that became a compass for its future. These insights helped inform a new visual identity and set the course to shape the Foundation’s mission.
The refreshed brand stands as a symbol of excellence, world-class hospitality, community engagement and impact. It invites world-class partners, fans and families to be part of something greater: a commitment to creating extraordinary experiences while fueling long-term community growth.
Welcome
For more than half a century, the Fiesta Sports Foundation has been a cornerstone of our community, best known for providing worldclass sports experiences through the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl and Rate Bowl. But our impact is delivered throughout the year.
The heart of our organization is a deep-rooted commitment to making a meaningful difference. Through charitable giving, legacy projects and transformative events, we strive to uplift communities across Arizona every single day.
This past year, the Fiesta Sports Foundation continued to enhance the lives of over one million Arizonans through initiatives focused on youth, sports and education. We proudly contributed $1.25 million to support 500 Arizona teachers through the Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers program, provided funding to 22 nonprofits through our Grant Cycle and repurposed the Rate Bowl field to benefit the
Western School of Science and Technology and its surrounding community in the Maryvale area of Phoenix.
The Community Impact Report gives you a look at the inspiring stories of our efforts making an impact across the state. This is due to the dedication and passion of our Board of Directors, Yellow Jacket Committee, Ambassadors, volunteers, incredible corporate and community partners and the tireless work of our committed staff.
It is said that “We rise by lifting others” and we proved that once again. Thank you for your unwavering support and for being part of another great year of impact!

“We had a terrific time with the young men from the Rutgers Football Team when they built Little Free Libraries and Reading Buddies for children. The players were polite, engaged and serious about giving back to the community. We’ve been doing this for a long time and this was one of our most engaged groups! RATE BOWL

phoenix, az

Kansas State rallied from a 17-point deficit to defeat Rutgers, 44-41, behind a record-setting night from Dylan Edwards in the 35th annual Rate Bowl in downtown Phoenix. Edwards had a breakout game, recording 18 carries for a Kansas State bowl-record 196 yards and two touchdowns. Additionally, he added two catches for 27 yards and one score. Edwards’ 196 rushing yards is the most in a Rate Bowl since Iowa’s Marcus Coker in 2010.

What began to seem like a Rutgers runaway win quickly became one of the most exciting games of this bowl season as Kansas State battled back and scored the winning touchdown with 4:06 left in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
The 85 combined points tied the fourth-highest scoring game in Rate Bowl history. It matches last year’s 85 combined points between Kansas and UNLV.

The first-ever College Football Playoff
Quarterfinal pitted two of the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl’s legacy schools. These two schools combined for a 10-0 record in the Fiesta Bowl, but all that mattered was a win on New Year’s Eve to continue their quest in the College Football Playoff.
All eyes were on Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, who needed 132 yards to break Barry Sanders’ FBS single-season record. However, the Heisman Trophy runner-up was limited to only 104 yards on 30 carries by Penn State’s stifling run defense, ranked No. 7 nationally. Jeanty finished his impressive season with 2,601 rushing yards, the second-most in FBS history.

Behind a balanced offense and an opportunistic defense, Penn State never trailed in a 31-14 victory over Boise State. The Nittany Lions increased their all-time Fiesta Bowl leading win total to eight, and more importantly advanced to the CFP Semifinal at the Orange Bowl to face Notre Dame.
“Thirteen wins, first time in program history. Thirty-four wins over the last three years. Consistency is hard to do and our guys have done a great job at it,” said Penn State Head Coach, James Franklin, who notched his second Fiesta Bowl victory, along with his win in 2017. “8-0 in Fiesta Bowls. Penn State loves the Fiesta Bowl. We’ll come every year.”
