PRIMARY ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAM
All materials and lesson plans provided by CFNG teachers
• Attending one model session is required before starting (counts for Community Hours)
• You’ll support one student at a time, with guidance every step of the way

READING BUDDIES
Bring stories to life and help little ones fall in love with reading. You’ll work one-on-one with primary students to build confidence in:
• Word recognition & fluency through games and read-alouds
• Comprehension by identifying characters, sequencing events, and understanding key ideas
• Vocabulary growth using images, storytelling, and fun challenges
• Motivation to read through picture books, word wheels and playful literacy tools

MATH MENTORS
Turn numbers into fun! Help students make sense of math in a hands-on way. You’ll guide them through:
• Recognizing and writing big numbers
• Understanding place value with visuals and games
• Counting by 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, and spotting patterns
• Quick math with real-world word problems
• Building number sense through estimating, rounding, and breaking numbers down Make math make sense—and fun.

MS AND HS MORNING ACADEMIC TUTORING PROGRAM
Grades 6–10 | One hour per session. Make an impact before school. Support FHNG students in small group sessions focused on core academic skills. No prep needed—just your time and heart.

• Graphs, probability & number systems
• Interpretation of data and smart calculations
Join one of 12 different clubs that meet every Wednesday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., starting August 20 through November 19.
Each club is guided by FHNG teachers and supported by you.

MAGIC LETTERS CLUB
• Mission: Spark a love for reading in elementary students through storyltelling, phonincs, games and podcast creations.
• You will: Help children imagine and write magical stories, play languagebased games, and record short audio episodes.
MATH GENIUSES CLUB
• Mission: Make math fun and accessible with games, puzzles, and logic challenges.
• You will: Lead math stations, explain basic concepts, and support young learners as they master numbers.
HEALTHY MINDS CLUB
• Mission: Promote emotional wellness through mindfulness and social-emotional learning.
• You will: Guide breathing exercises, help with SEL games, and foster a calm and positive environment.

CRITICAL THINKING & READING CLUB
• Mission: Develop comprehension and expression through engaging texts and conversations.
• You will: Lead short readings, guide group discussions, and support debate and writing activities.
ENGLISH STARS CLUB
• Mission: Help students strengthen their English with fun, interactive lessons.
• You will: Practice vocabulary with students, assist with worksheets, and lead games like Simon Says or Word Bingo.
SCIENCE
EXPLORERS CLUB
• Mission: Bring science to life through experiments, inquiry, and hands-on learning.
• You will: Set up experiments, lead students through observations, and encourage scientific exploration.
STUDENT REPORTERS CLUB
• Mission: Capture school life through journalism, photography, and creative writing.
• You will: Conduct interviews, draft articles, and help design newsletters or bulletin boards.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS
PREP CLUB
• Mission: Explore world issues and build leadership through simulations and global dialogue.
• You will: Help students research, write speeches, and facilitate MUN-style debates.
ART IN ACTION CLUB
• Mission: Inspire creativity through visual arts, music, and movement.
• You will: Lead group art projects, prepare materials, and encourage artistic expression.
MATH IN MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL
CLUB
• Mission: Support older students in mastering core math skills.
• You will: Assist with problem-solving, lead review games, and provide peer support.
Mission #3 Impact Saturdays
LOOKING TO CREATE MEMORIES WHILE MAKING A DIFFERENCE?
Join us on select Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Impact Saturdays—a joyful way to serve, play, and connect. 5 hours each session.
You’ll spend time with FHNG kindergarten and 1st grade students through games, laughter, and meaningful moments. Other sessions include mural painting and transforming playground spaces—side by side with CNG families.
