FGCU TRADITION Including 2018, FGCU has made six postseason appearances in only seven years of D-I eligibility: 2013 NCAA, 2014 NIT, 2015 CIT, 2016 NCAA, 2017 NCAA. FGCU is believed to be the only D-I program in NCAA history to make five postseason appearances in its first six years of eligibility.
2007-08 FGCU’s first D-I season and first year as a member of the ASUN. The Eagles defeat North Florida, 70-67, in their first-ever league game and finish the year 6-10 in the ASUN (T-8th of 12 teams).
2012-13
2008-09 The Eagles don’t win a road game all season (0-14) and finish 7-13 in the ASUN (9th of 11 teams).
2009-10 The team wins its fewest ASUN games in single-sea- In just its second season of D-I postseason eligibility, son program history with just five en route to a 5-15 FGCU goes 13-5 in the ASUN, earns the No. 2 seed in the record (T-10th of 11 teams). conference tournament and for the second-straight year defeats Mercer on its home court -- this time in the final 2010-11 -- to earn an NCAA Tournament berth. 2013-14
2011-12 FGCU’s first season of D-I postseason eligibility. The Eagles go 8-10 in the ASUN (T-6th of 11 teams) and earn the No. 6 seed in the conference tournament. FGCU defeats No. 3 USC Upstate, 71-61, upsets host and No. 2 Mercer in the semifinals, 62-58, before falling short in the title game to top-seeded Belmont, 83-69, after holding a 42-39 halftime lead.
2014-15
FGCU goes 11-3 in the ASUN (2nd of 8 teams) and receives the No. 2 seed, but falls at home in the ASUN semifinals to No. 3 USC Upstate, 63-62.
By reaching the ASUN Championship Final Game in each of its first three seasons of eligibility, FGCU became the only school in NCAA history to accomplish that feat.

FGCU wins its first ASUN regular-season championship with a record of 14-4 and earns the top seed in the ASUN tournament. But this time, No. 2-seeded Mercer defeats the Eagles on their home court in the title game, 68-60, and goes on to knock off Duke in the NCAA Tournament as a 14 seed.
2015-16
2016-17
After claiming its first outright regular-season crown with a 12-2 record, FGCU beat Stetson by 30 points in the quarterfinals, knocked off Kennesaw State in the semifinals and then used a big 2nd half to run away from rival North Florida in the final to cut down the nets for the third time in five years.

FGCU won its 2nd ASUN Tournament Championship in four years with an 80-78 overtime win over 7th-seeded Stetson. The Eagles tied for 2nd in the league, but received the 4th seed and defeated 5th-seeded Kennesaw State, 74-64, before dominating at top-seeded North Florida, 89-56, in the semifinals – the largest loss a top seed has ever suffered in the A-Sun Championship (since 1979). #DunkCity
