The premier choice in academic health sciences both nationally and internationally.
Mission
The IHSN is committed to produce graduates who are competent, value-laden, service-oriented, with research and leadership capabilities, and future-ready to deliver health services
Vision
The Department of Nursing envisions to be the center of excellence in nursing program both regionally and internationally.
Mission
Department of Nursing is committed to produce graduates who are value-driven, technologically profiecient, critical thinkers, research-oriented, with entrepreneurial traits, and effective leadership skills.
It is devoted to the nursing profession to deliver sage, quality humane care through health industry responsive and well-designed academic program.
This day marks a very important milestone in your dream of becoming nurses. You are now embarking on your next step in training and instruction in the nursing profession. Like your parents, we at the Institute, are very proud of you. Not just because of your achievements but also because of your desire to serve others through your profession. In the past years of the pandemic, nurses have attained greater respect in the work that they do. The world has seen that nurses and healthcare frontliners are truly more important than celebrities and politicians. Even now when the pandemic is winding down, nurses are still in great demand not just in Philippines but in many parts of the world. I therefore share in your enthusiasm in the continuation of your education which will now include working in hospitals. May you therefore take advantage of these opportunities to prepare yourselves truly well as future nurses. May you also continue to embody FEU’s core values of fortitude, excellence and uprightness especially now that you will spend some of your studies outside the University.
Again, congratulations!
Congratulations BSN Batch 2023 for completing your clinical requirements as specified in your curriculum. The end of your BSN program is very timely to the global demand for nursing workforce in hospitals, communities, industries and even in the educational institutions. What you need is to hurdle the Nurse Licensure Examination and become Registered nurses.
Our only wish is that you will always carry the core values of FEU as molded within you for four years within the institute and under the supervision of clinical instructors and preceptors.
The academic journey is tiresome, exhausting and sometimes overwhelming as you are required to balance the attainment of theoretical knowledge in the classroom and the application of skills with corresponding appropriate caring attitudes in clinical settings. We hope to have molded you well.
Online learning had been a challenge as your transitioning from high school life to college life occurs in a novel environment without actual interactions, followed by face-to-face learning in a dangerous situation, fearful of being infectedwith covid 19 virus. Congratulations for surpassing those hindrances and now as graduate of the nursing program. You are indeed born to be tamaraw nurses. We look forward for your commitment to be the future heart of healthcare. See you soon not just as alumni but as FEUture collegues of the profession.
Thank you for choosing us, the FEU Nursing Family to be a part of your academic journey.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
– 1 Peter 4:10I was pleased to have read this year’s theme - Transcending Toward Commitment: A Pinning Ceremony for the FEUture Heart of Healthcare. I pray that your commitment to be the future heart of healthcare is not only coined for this event but will serve as your guiding principle as you embark on this very important journey in your lives.
Nursing is at a very challenging state currently. You will enter the workforce at the height of a nursing shortage. You will enter with knowledge and skills that have been acquired unconventionally, and thus for some of you with a degree of uncertainty. Uncertain if you know enough, are enough, will be enough. But I plead with you to use that uncertainty to fuel a desire to know more, be better, and most importantly, to be of service to your fellowmen. Nursing had its roots in charity, service, and selflessness. A stark contrast of how Nursing is viewed today. Although there is no harm in wanting a better life or a greener pasture. What I am trying to elucidate is that Nursing did not come to being for those purposes.
Allow me to re-center you to the core of the profession you have chosen. We are first and foremost “carers”, “nurturers.” May your hearts beat for those in their sick beds, for the ones in pain, in need, in discomfort, and for those who are suffering. May your hearts not long for the “prize” and the “price” but rather for making patient and family experiences better whether in wellbeing, in sickness, and even in a dignified death. You have been given an opportunity to touch lives and bring healing. Go forth and be the FEUture hearts of healthcare.
My congratulations and warmest greetings to the Batch of 2023! Everything always started with a dream. And everyone knew that dreams will only be realized when you are committed to fulfilling them. I am a witness to your arduous journey in bringing to fruition your dreams and I must say that your class’s unyielding commitment to achieve them may be an understatement. I was there when you were all very resilient in braving the task of learning the discipline via the online platform during the start of the global health crisis. Your determination to acquire and equip yourselves with knowledge and skills despite your own personal dilemmas is, without a doubt, admirable. Your willingness to adapt to changes and strength to overcome the challenges of blended learning showed courage that is truly second to none. Given these attributes, I am more than confident that your class’s commitment to becoming FEUture health care providers are more than palpable not just in every classroom or online sessions but could be very substantial and worthy of mention wherever your feet will take you. Ken Blanchard, an American writer, once said, “There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you are interested in something, you do it only when it is convenient. When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results.”
Certainly, the FEUture of health care is brighter with committed future Tamaraw nurses from the class of 2023.
Godspeed!
It is my great pleasure to extend my warm greetings to you, Batch 2023, on your Clinical Graduation.
This day marks the beginning of new challenges and greater responsibilities that would require compassion intertwined with excellence and zeal in your chosen profession. FEU has always been committed to academic excellence and innovation and has consistently produced globally competitive nurses. Hence, you are the living proof why FEU remains to be one of the best nursing schools in the country. This is the moment that you will make a commitment to the nursing profession by making a difference in the lives of other people and by creating an immeasurable impact to the communities around you.
This ceremony is a testament of your hard work, determination, and resilience. As you face the challenges of the real world, let your efforts serve as fuel to become better and stronger individuals. Show the world what a true Tamaraw Nurse is — brave, compassionate, dynamic.
Embody the FEU core values of Fortitude, Excellence, and Uprightness as you are now prepared to be called a full-fledged Tamaraw Nurse. The pureness of your heart and the ingenuity of your mind will help you succeed in life as agents of care in the healthcare field. Exemplify our Mission and Vision by committing to do your best and by keeping the flame of your passion continuously burning.
Make us proud. Make your parents proud. Be proud of who you are now. The future is bright and promising for all of you. The best is yet to come.
Congratulations.
You have succeeded in completing your degrees and are now ready to go out there and face whatever the world has to offer. You have worked hard to achieve this milestone.
Three years ago, you had a vision to pursue a career to become a Nurse. Each of you should be proud of your accomplishment. Dream big and go far. Let no fear sway you from your passion. Dream a dream of greatness and pursue it. Let wisdom and faith in your heart guide you. Have faith in yourself, and you can be whatever you want to be and go wherever you want to go.
It was my great honor to be your level coordinator and it is my hope that you found something valuable in our times together. Never forget the importance of Fortitude, Excellence and Uprightness as you strive to become the great FEUture Nurse. Best wishes and much success.
Congratulations Class 2023! Indeed, this graduation marks a milestone on your timeline!
It was just like yesterday where you started as freshmen on 2019, braved the challenges of online learning during the height of the pandemic on 2020 and 2021, and welcomed the new normal on your last school year. Truly this is a great achievement for all of you! This is what you call a common timeline. So, my message will focus on this topic.
The shared experiences that you have should be treasured and remembered from time to time to keep you going to achieve your goals in life. It ignites your passion to continue on what you are doing and what you want to be in your life. After graduation you may see your close friends less frequently than how you are seeing and bonding with them right now, as they will also be embarking on their chosen paths and fulfilling their timeline. You might feel insecure, lost, or challenged upon seeing your batchmates flourish early on their chosen careers. But fear not, as this is completely expected and you should not put these pressures on you. Remember that we have different timelines. We control them based on what we want to achieve and what the circumstance we are in presently. Each of our timelines has its own success and failures, therefore, comparing timelines are not necessary. Some of you might be successful in clinical nursing, in research, in the academe, or in entrepreneurship. What matters is that your timeline needs Happiness, Contentment, and Satisfaction, which are three words that will be both easy and challenging to achieve. Basically, it begins with how you have set your mind into.
Delays in reaching the timelines does not equate failure. Success comes to us in different forms that are not easily recognizable especially if we fill our minds with doubts and fears. It also comes to us at different times like Colonel Sanders, who had great success only at the age of 65. An age where maximum people retire and don’t dream of anything further except of pension plans. There are a lot more personalities that had their share of success and failures for you to be inspired further if you need more examples.
In conclusion, whatever path you choose after graduation will always matter to us and we will always be proud of each one of you! Always carry our core values of Fortitude, Excellence, and Uprightness! God Bless and See you around!
The pin contains elements found in the Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing logo. It has gained recognition and has been utilized by nursing graduates as a symbol representing their dedication to the nursing profession. Thus, the only bearers of the FEU Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing pins are bona fide Tamaraw Nurses driven by the core values of FEU — Fortitude, Excellence, and Uprightness. These dedicated nurses are committed to serving both the Filipino community and the global society, making the pin a mark of their genuine dedication and passion for the nursing profession.
A Pinning Ceremony is held to have the pin given to the nursing graduates, officially welcoming them to the profession. At the center of the pin is an eight-pointed star that symbolizes “foundation.” This element was carried over from the old IN logo to preserve the Institute’s roots before the transition. Inside the star is a laurel wreath to represent the education sector. Inside the laurel wreath is a stethoscope and Florence flask to symbolize the health sciences sector. Above the star are common elements in all FEU logos; these Baybayin symbols uses “H” for “Health” and “N” for “Nursing.” Additionally, the logo utilizes two colors: dark periwinkle and peach. The dark periwinkle on the right side represents the color for Health Sciences and symbolizes health, wisdom, calmness, and youth. The peach color on the left side represents the color for Nursing –– yet another element retained from the previous logo to represent the roots prior to the transition. On either side of the peach and periwinkle lies the numbers “20” and “23” to signify the FEU Nursing Batch of 2023. And encompassing all these elements is “Far Eastern University · Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing” written in gold to remind its bearers whence they come and to uphold integrity, honor, and resilience in the face of adversity.
The pin serves as a constant reminder of their hard work, commitment, and the values they embody as Tamaraw Nurses. No matter the location or the path these nursing graduates choose in their nursing profession, the pin will always symbolize their journey and accomplishments, connecting them to their alma mater and the principles they hold dear.

I solemnly pledge myself before God and in the presence of this assembly, to pass my life in purity and to practise my profession faithfully.
I will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous, and will not take or knowingly administer any harmful drug.
I will do all in my power to maintain and elevate the standard of my profession, and will hold in confidence all personal matters committed to my keeping, and all family affairs coming to my knowledge in the practice of my calling.
With loyalty will I endeavour to aid the physician in his work, and devote myself to the welfare of those committed to my care.
I said remember this moment
In the back of my mind
The time we stood with our shaking hands
The crowds in stands went wild
We were the kings and the queens
And they read off our names
The night you danced like you knew
Our lives would never be the same
You held your head like a hero On a history book page
It was the end of a decade But the start of an age
Long live the walls we crashed through How the kingdom lights shined just for me and you I was screaming long live all the magic we made And bring on all the pretenders
One day, we will be remembered
I said remember this feeling
I pass the pictures around
Of all the years that we stood there On the side-lines wishing for right now
We are the kings and the queens
You traded your baseball cap for a crown When they gave us our trophies And we held them up for our town
And the cynics were outraged
Screaming, “This is absurd!”
‘Cause for a moment a band of thieves
In ripped-up jeans got to rule the world
Long live the walls we crashed through
How the kingdom lights shined just for me and you I was screaming long live all the magic we made
And bring on all the pretenders
I’m not afraid
Long live all the mountains we moved
I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you
I was screaming long live that look on your face
And bring on all the pretenders
One day, we will be remembered
Hold on to spinning around
Confetti falls to the ground
May these memories break our fall
Will you take a moment
Promise me this
That you’ll stand by me forever
But if God forbid fate should step in
And force us into a goodbye
If you have children some day
When they point to the pictures
Please tell them my name
Tell them how the crowds went wild
Tell them how I hope they shine
Long live the walls we crashed through I had the time of my life, with you
Long, long live the walls we crashed through
How the kingdom lights shined just for me and you
And I was screaming long live all the magic we made
And bring on all the pretenders
I’m not afraid
Singing, long live all the mountains we moved I had the time of my life fighting dragons with you
And long, long live that look on your face
And bring on all the pretenders
One day, we will be remembered

Far Eastern, onward beloved Alma Mater! Onward, oh lead us, the Green and Gold in view
In thy happy halls, our young heart saw the light; Command thy sons and daughters to battle for the right.
Though far from home our feet may roam, Our love will still be true.
Our voices shall unite To praise thy name anew.
We’ll treasure within our heart
The FEU!
We’ll treasure within our heart
The FEU!
