Legarda rouses Environmental Cooperation from Tamaraw Nurses

Legarda in the delivery of the nurse’s role in alleviating environmental degradation. Two IN students win Palanca tilt by Gino V. Caguioa Two Institute of Nursing (IN) students managed to capture top spots of the 7th Annual Peace Essay Writing Contest as Mr. Jhon Miguel B. Vecida won the 2nd place and Ms. Patricia Andrea A. Tan won the 3rd place; together with consolation prizes won by Ms. Mary Cel S. Abucejo, Ms. Patricia Simone B. Flores, Ms. Marilaine R. Padernal and Ms. Anna Mae S. Veloso with the awarding ceremony held at the Institute of Arts and Science (IAS) conference hall last October 1, 2010. University (FEU) over the last six years as a part of continuing the legacy of Angel C. Palanca Peace Program (ACP3) which aims to cultivate peace in the minds of the Tamaraw students. With motivational prices of pocket money and scholarship summing P35,000 for the 1st place, P25,000 for the 2nd place and P15,000 for the 3rd place which drew a total of 281 entries from students of the different institutes of the University overall. The Institute of Nursing (IN) 2010-2011’s counterpart to the previous school year’s IN Big Night, presented ShINdig to the IN community last January 28, 2011 at the Far Eastern University (FEU) quadrangle. The mentioned IN week highlight party was a collaboration of the whole IN body from the IN administration and faculty, IN Student Council flagships and standing committees, up to the IN students of all year levels. Dr. Ma. Belinda G. Buenafe, Associate Dean of IN, gave the opening remarks for the annual celebration followed by various video presentations about the IN week, and the INSC 2010-2011‘s projects. IN talents overtook the stage to perform numerous intermission numbers from the Institute of Nursing Theatre Arts Committee (INTAC) juniors, FEU-IN RCYCC, Institute of Nursing’s Music Ministry and home-grown bands. INSC Advisers Mr Terrence L. Ranjo and Mrs. Rachel D. Laxamana, Nursing Faculty Club President Mr. Gil Parentela, and FEUNAF President Mr. Michael Jimenez were all present to give messages and testimonials of being a proud IN. A battle between year levels for the Eco-Ambassador and Ambassadress of IN was one of the ShINdig’s most awaited highlights. Far Eastern University Office of Student Affairs (FEU-OSA) in collaboration with the FEU Central Student Organization (FEUCSO) conducted a gift giving and medical mission entitled, “Tam Bayani, Be a Hero,” last December 5, 2010, at Calawis, Antipolo City, Rizal. The event arrived at its fifth year this year, with Ms. Guada Nobela from the Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS) as the proponent of the event, as part of the “Save-the-

Tamaraw” project and other university community service flagship programs. “Tamvol has been doing ‘Pasko ng Pagbabahagi’ since 2006. Our main goal is to make the Dumagat smile, not only during the yuletide season, but all throughout the year.
