‘NEVER FAILS TO SURPRISE AND DELIGHT’ THE GUARDIAN

23 AUG08 SEP

This year an amazing array of artists invite us to re昀氀ect on making positive change: from Legs On The Wall’s jaw-dropping call to action on climatechangewith THAW;toATC’s BodiesofWater, which invites us to look beyond the headlines to the lives of those seeking refuge here; aswellasDanteorDie’schronicleof stories of change and regeneration in A Ballad of Thamesmead. GDIF 2024 will encourage you to see the world anew.

Change for an outdoor festival like GDIF, also means disrupting the everyday rhythm of life, to create unforgettable moments. From our Opening Night in Woolwich featuring an uplifting fusion of percussion and pyrotechnics, to a breathtaking parkour exploration of the architecture of Greenwich Peninsula, and Patois, a dance celebration of Caribbean culture guaranteed to get you on your feet, as well as a magical pop-up World Kioskin Green Street - you’ll 昀椀nd joy and surprises round every corner.

ALL CHANGE!

Photo: Laurent Marchal

Like other events and festivals we’re also changing in response to di昀케cult 昀椀nancial times. Greenwich Fair is moving to a biennial format, to make sure we can bring this street arts celebration back in the style it deserves next year. Dancing City is also changing, moving to an exciting new destination in Stratford, where it will continue to bring the best of outdoor dance to London audiences.

In spite of the challenges and with huge thanks to our amazing

funders and partners, GDIF is proud to be 昀氀ying the 昀氀ag for free outdoor arts in 2024. Next year will be our 30th year – a landmark for any festival and you our audience are, of course, right at the heart of this. We want you to have the best time and make the most of every moment. If you are able to, please do consider making a donation - in these di昀케cult times, every pound is vital and you’ll be playing your part in helping to keep GDIF free.
