In the heart of Peterborough, where the hum of anticipation rises beneath the glow of a new leisure quarter, ODEON Peterborough opened its doors as a beacon of modern cinema. Eight screens — including IMAX — stand ready to immerse audiences in worlds of colour and thunder, yet it is comfort that whispers the cinema’s true invitation.
To craft an environment that feels as indulgent as the stories on screen, we installed the Opus Glide — seats shaped with Scandinavian poise and a softness that settles around the body like a quiet welcome. Their effortless glide mechanism moves intuitively with each guest, providing natural support without a single motor or button. To either side, swivel tables with built-in cupholders arc gracefully into place, giving every visitor their own small, elegant surface for drinks and treats.
At the foot of the auditorium, the frontrow daybeds stretch out like invitations — generous platforms designed for those who want to sink deeper into the moment, lounging fully as the film unfolds above them. These daybeds set the opening note, while the Opus Glide seats carry the melody through every row, creating a harmony of comfort, practicality, and quiet luxury.

Across all auditoriums, fully reclining seats provide generous comfort without sacrificing space. Premium twin recliners in the back rows feature built-in swivel tables, cupholders, cocoon-style privacy panels, and reading lights—creating an exclusive, luxury experience. 2023, London, Paragon 588 Boutique seats
In 2023, this cinema in the heart of London’s cultural complex on the Thames’ South Bank underwent a substantial refurbishment to improve comfort and accessibility.
We manufactured and installed 108 Paragon 588 tip-up seats. This included a front row comprised of removable seats, enhancing the accessibility of the space.
The Paragon 588 is noted for its compact form factor, providing flexibility to fit any space alongside class-leading comfort and multiple options for customisation, including cup holders and embroidery.
The seats are upholstered in a rich velvet by Sunbury Design, the autumnal colour scheme brings both elegnace and character to this iconic cultural venue. Often hailed as a crown jewel of London’s film scene, the upgraded seating at this venue sees some of the biggest names from film and stage every month.
RENEWED ICON HISTORIC CINEMA REBORN
After years of anticipation, this historic cinema has returned to Edinburgh’s cultural scene modernised, revitalised, and more inclusive than ever. The renovation blends heritage with contemporary design, creating a welcoming space that celebrates independent cinema while meeting today’s expectations for comfort and accessibility. Seating played a pivotal role in this transformation, with a focus on ergonomic comfort, operational flexibility, and aesthetic character. Across all four auditoriums, seating layouts were carefully configured to enhance sightlines, personal space, and audience enjoyment. Removable seat systems allow quick adaptation for wheelchair users, ensuring the venue is inclusive and adaptable for all visitors.
Each auditorium features its own identity through a curated colour palette, using plush, durable upholstery that adds warmth, luxury, and visual appeal. Flame-retardant and abrasion-resistant finishes were selected for long-term performance, while embroidered seat numbers and aisle markers subtly elevate the overall look and functionality. The deliberate reduction in capacity prioritises spaciousness, accessibility, and premium comfort reflecting a shift toward quality of experience rather than quantity of seats. The result is a cinema that feels intimate, thoughtfully designed, and purpose-built for modern audiences.
