INTRODUCTION Surrounded by over 100 acres of magnificent deer park, Parklands, our elegant country house in rural north Essex, offers the perfect romantic backdrop for your celebrations.

Set in extensive landscaped gardens, this wonderful country house can be yours exclusively for the day.

PARKLANDS

CEREMONIES Parklands offers three elegant ceremony rooms, seating from 20 to140 guests. For larger events, our stunning silk-lined Pavilion can accommodate as many as 1000 guests theatre-style.

The Pavilion, Banqueting Hall and Drawing Room are all licensed for civil ceremonies. The Pavilion is licensed for up to 410 guests, the Banqueting Hall for up to 140 guests and the Drawing Room is licensed for up to 50 guests. We are also licensed for outside ceremonies under our beautiful gazebo.

BANQUETING We are able to provide kitchen facilities for your caterers and can recommend caterers to suit your individual needs. The Banqueting Hall can seat 120 guests. The Pavilion can seat up to 600 guests with a dance floor, or 650 without a dance floor.

ACCOMMODATION For the bridal couple, the thatched Bridal Cottage offers a private haven, nestled in the deer park, with a car on hand to transport you there in style.

Relax in the Jacuzzi bath, then step out on to your private veranda to admire the breathtaking views.

We offer an additional 21 luxury, ensuite rooms for your family and friends - the perfect retreat for your guests after a fabulous day.

After a night of luxury, meet up and re-live the memories of your wedding day over breakfast - a perfect way to bring your celebrations to a close.

RECEPTION ROOMS The reception rooms at Parklands are elegant and spacious: The Drawing Room offers an intimate setting with a roaring log fire in the winter months and tranquil views onto the grounds; ideal for reception drinks or smaller ceremonies.

The Banqueting Hall is perfect for reception drinks and ceremonies. This beautiful room has panoramic views across the deer park and opens out onto the terrace and fountain.

Our silk-lined Pavilion overlooks the grounds and gazebo and is beautifully lit, with elegant chandeliers and a starlight ceiling. The Pavilion is fully heated and can be partitioned as required for larger or smaller functions.

The Pavilion can seat up to 1000 guests-theatre style, and a maximum of 650 for banqueting. (Dimensions: 40m x 15m).

LOCATION By road (approaching via the M11) Exit the M11 at Junction 8 onto the slip road signposted the A120 Hertford and at the roundabout again follow the signs for the A120 Hertford. After a short distance you will arrive at another roundabout. Go straight across (still on the A120) and continue for about one mile to a further roundabout.

Take the 3rd exit, signed B1383 Newport. Continue on this road for about 5 miles, passing through Stansted Mountfitchet and Ugley, to arrive at Quendon village. After you have left the village look out for, and turn left at, signs for Parklands. This will take you through large black gates and onto our driveway. (Our postcode for Sat Nav is CB11 3XN).

Other directions We are located north of Bishop’s Stortford. If travelling on the A120, exit at the roundabout signposted B1383 Newport. Then take directions via Stansted Mountfitchet above.

By train Newport is the nearest station, about 2 miles away from where a taxi will take about 5 minutes. The station is on the London (Liverpool Street) to Cambridge line. National Train enquiries: Tel. 08457 484950.

By air We are about 15 minutes from Stansted airport.
