ALIKI CHIOTAKI (GR) 60 PULSES (2016) Directed by Aliki Chiotaki Choreographed / Performed by Christina Mertzani Music / Sound: Dimitris Barnias Camera / Edit /Produced by Aliki Chiotaki A female figure smashed into her own world, submitted to a bizarre journey of entrapment. Moves fiercely onto a narrow, rusty old space surrounded by windows that reflect the raging sea. The intense body movements of the dancer explore the idea of making the effort to adjust the moment by moment of timing of action, to test, to provoke the nature of the body. The hyper electro -acoustic sound adds an aura of discomfort and strangeness to this presence where stands acts and reacts in an on-going circle.

CIPHER (2017)

TWINE (2018) Â Directed by Aliki Chiotaki Performer: Panagiota Paraskevopoulou Music & Sound Design: Dimitris Barnias Camera / Edit: Aliki Chiotaki Voice / Narration: Myrto Kontomitaki Sound Recording: Studio Diapason

Directed by Aliki Chiotaki Choreographer: Xenia Kyriakopoulou Performer: Katerina Psaroudaki Costume design: Xanth Kontou Sound design: Dimitris Barnias Camera / Edit /Produced by Aliki Chiotaki

Twine is a video that narrates the physical and emotional bonding between the physical presence of a body and the constrained area of a space. The title itself expresses the interlacing rhythm between these two factors

A woman performs a series of movement / exercises before entering the infinite blue. Cipher is a pitch of a longer Dance for Camera project where its theme explores choreographically the inability or insufficiency of a group of people to maintain unity and integrity while performing a task thus, to lose the initial common code.

DAZ DISLEY (UK) TRAVERSAL #1 #2 #3 (2017/2018)

Directed / Filmed/ Edited /Produced by Daz Disley Performers: Vagia Kapousidou, Dhimas Aryo Satwiko, Julia Metzger-Traber Music: Andy Penny Sometimes, it's better not to grow up, but to grow sideways : Traversal is a project looking at the possibility of sideways growth which asks dancers and performers to present a movement phrase which is both comfortable to them, and also challenging. In western society we are seemingly obsessed with growth - of economy and career, but what if we don't decide to move in such a vertical fashion, but instead grow sideways embracing new fields as generalists, instead of specialists.

MICHELE MANZINI & VALERIA LO MEO (IT) MOVING AFRICA (2016) Written / Directed by Valeria Lo Meo & Michele Manzini Director of Photography: Luciano Perbellini Edit: Valeria Lo Meo Produced by Bottega di Fotografia pty (LTD) Cape Town To work with the expressive form of a documentary means rethinking the idea of describing reality and redefining its structure and the limits, and it also means doing so in a place where the imagery and weight of that reality seem most strong and binding, as in the South African townships. This is an act that might confirm the existence of impossibility because this is the basic gesture for conquering reality: to state that the impossible exists.

YAGO DE MATEO (ESP) PRIVATE PARTY (2014) Choreographer / Performer: Ana I. Cotoré Music: John Talabot - The West Camera / Edit: Yago de Mateo The PRIVATE PARTY videodance symbolizes everything about the Zentai culture from Japan. Zentai (from the Japanese ゼンタイ ) is a term for skin-tight garments that cover the entire body. Under the second skin or zentai suit there is someone who lives her private party, who dances freely and without external judgment, building the reality she needs to be able to continue existing in a medium sometimes perceived as an obstacle to the development of the self when it is viewed as a social process.

HUMAN RIGHTS? #EDU- 2018 EDITION [VIDEO ART SELECTION] Education isn’t a privilege but a human right. it is an empowerment right; it lifts marginalised groups out of poverty; it is an indispensable means of realising other rights; it contributes to the full development of the human personality. HUMAN RIGHTS? #EDU asks to the artists to represent and tell, with their own artistic language, a personal vision of the problem of the right to education representing a story, a concept, a complaint, or showing a future perspective as message of hope or even as a concrete proposal on the opportunities to be pursued to achieve this fundamental goal for the construction of a fair and right society. 161 ARTISTS from 37 COUNTRIES have been selected to take part in an exhibition from 23 June to 23 September 2018 at Fondazione Opera Campana dei Caduti | Rovereto | TN | Italy. For the Festival x-24 2018, a selection of 10 video works, curated by Roberto Ronca, will be screened as an installation in the space of x-church for the duration of 24 hours non-stop.

SYLVIA TOY ST. LOUIS (USA) DON'T TAKE THIS THE WRONG WAY BUT (2018) This video was created for THE DEMOCRACY SCRABBLE PROJECT (dotbox.it/main/event/the-democracy-scrabbleproject/). Bad experiences such as mean things people say to you are like money in the bank for a performance artist who has a mind like a trap. So if you don't want that mean thought about me remembered, do not say it to me.

PEOPLE WHO CARRY THEIR HURT WHEREVER THEY GO (2018) This is an improvised performance inspired by one of those "moments of complete clarity." I volunteer doing office work at a nonprofit theater service organization in downtown San Francisco. The office suite is quite lovely and it's thrilling to sometimes hear professional theater rehearsals in other parts of the building. But we are located in the roughest part of downtown and more than once, I have interrupted a drug deal that was taking place in the doorway downstairs. A few weeks ago, just as I stepped out of the building onto a sidewalk crowded with broken down, beaten down people of all ages, sizes, shapes and colors, one face stood out among all those dozens of faces: a scowling, scruffy, shaggy-haired very young man wearing too many clothes for the weather and a huge backpack. He was so young and so angry and so focused; and I had that moment of clarity that I was surrounded at that moment by people who probably carry all the terrible things that had ever happened to them around with them all the time like all the jackets the boy was wearing and his huge backpack. I couldn't stop thinking about him and this performance started forming inside my head. I was invited to screen this movie in Festival x-24Â and there are not enough words for how gratifying it is that one of my peers thinks the movie could be relevant for young people. Materials: human actor, clothing, greenscreen, found sound, B-roll.

CHRISTOPHER MATTHEWS (USA/UK) UNTITLED: PORTRAITS (2017) Untitled: Portraits (2017) are together studies which draw inspiration partly from Warhol’s Screen Tests, with the thought that if he were alive today he would be engaging with the music video as a format at the centre of pop culture. With these works I am interested in iconoclasm, a critical engagement with technique and the formal properties of popular media. Whilst drawing on certain familiar values of the music video (in terms of rhythm, editing, length and addressal of audience) I intend to re-focus on performance within the medium. The videos are played without the sound so that the subject, the body and its gestures, becomes more present; the identity of the music is present only through its embodiment. By masking the gender of the singer and the placing of the (white mid-30s) male body in relation to the music and its performance, I aim to highlight the codes of gender and performance of sexualities. *Made with the in-kind support from Sadlers Wells

FRANCESCA LOLLI (IT) NO PLACE FOR A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE (2017) Freedom of Speech is the foundation of all the other forms of freedoms. Without freedom of speech, democracy is an imposture. Every freedom that we possess or we aspire to possess is born because it was possible to think freely, to discuss freely, to write freely. In the world today, only 40% of citizens live in a fully free State.
