I like using the computer and working with my hands to create unique and vibrant environments.

What really inspires me is walking into a space and finding ways to improve it, to unlock its full potential.

My style is all about making designs that blend and match with the space, building, and concept.

Hotel Helder Internship Category: Hotel/restaurant Status: realised - Opened in 2022 Location: Renesse, Zeeland Applied programs Adobe Photoshop

This project was part of my internship at Studio Hank, a company specializing in hotel and restaurant interior design. I had the opportunity to independently conceptualize and create these rooms, inspired by a Mediterranean theme matching the coastal town of Renesse in Zeeland, where the boutique hotel is located.

Drawing inspiration from the beach and sea, I designed two unique rooms and a spacious suite with a sauna, each featuring a freestanding bathtub for added luxury.

I used V-Ray for realistic renders and created the room in SketchUp. Technical drawings and measurements for cabinets and bed backdrops were made using SketchUp LayOut. I have talked to carpenters and contractors to determine the right materials, dimensions, and designs for the cabinets and bed back walls.

The result is a design now realized in Renesse, Zeeland, offering a welcoming Mediterranean ambiance that reflects my skills and creativity cultivated during my time at Studio Hank.

This hotel is located in an old shooting guild in the Dutch town of Middelburg. ST Jorisdoelen is a project I worked on during my internship at Studio Hank. I designed every room mysef, with feedback from the client and my internship supervisor. The rooms provide a luxurious feeling and transport you back to the time of the shooting guild in the Golden Age. By using expensive looking fabrics and deep colors, this luxury effect is enhanced. The large king-size beds make you feel like royalty. There are three types of themed rooms: the green room, the blue room, and the suite. Because it’s an old building, each room is unique. I had to design all the custom fittings for each room. The result is a very beautiful hotel where the exterior of the building, its history, and the client’s wishes all align closely.

A green oasis above the bustling city center, offering children of all ages a chance to learn about nature, sustainability, and health. It includes a daycare center and school programs where kids can engage in activities like planting, caring for plants and animals, and maintaining the garden.

In this educational garden, children discover the importance of green spaces in cities, how to keep their environment healthy, reduce waste, and preserve biodiversity. They also learn about healthy eating and exercise.

The daycare center provides a safe, green space for parents or caregivers to leave their kids while they work or shop. The rooftop educational garden at Zuidplein benefits the community by connecting children with nature and teaching them about sustainability and health. It’s a potential model for other urban areas interested in involving children in these important topics.

We all tend to judge others and things quickly, leading to prejudice and condemnation. To challenge this, I created a stylish snack bar called “Golden Twig.” The restaurant’s appearance will challenge stereotypes, offering affordable and good food in a welcoming atmosphere.

Golden Twig breaks the traditional snack bar mold, avoiding bright lights, suspended ceilings, and typical decor. Warm materials and round shapes create a friendly atmosphere. I’ve strategically placed the bar and kitchen close to the entrance for a warm welcome. High ceilings and warm lighting enhance the atmosphere. Acoustic carpet tiles reduce noise, and seating areas are comfortable.

Golden Twig aims to attract both the community and tourists by making it ‘instagram worthy’ with unique elements. The snack bar uses large air fryers, making the food healthier. Bringing people together, I aim to change preconceptions and create a vibrant space for everyone.

This model represents an apartment in the Marconi Towers. The Marconi Towers are located on Marconi Square in Rotterdam. For this project, I chose the famous architect Ieoh Ming Pei as my source of inspiration. I examined his use of color, light, and materials.

As a result, I incorporated large windows and geometric shapes into my design, taking parts from Pei’s architectural style. For materials, I selected cement and glass, along with the black and grey colors that Pei often used in his designs.

I created the model using SketchUp and then cut it out from wood using a laser cutter. The windows are made of transparent acrylic, also cut with the laser cutter to create beautiful shadows on the walls and floors within the apartment.

Ieoh Ming Pei

The buildings that have inspired me the most are the pyramid of the Louvre Museum in Paris, the Suzhou Museum in China, and the Bank of China Tower.

These structures make use of a stunning play of light and beautiful materials like glass and metal, and they harmonize well with the countries where they are located.

I did an internship at “Ontwerpstudio 5”, which creates magazines and media content for Loods 5. Loods 5 is one of the largest home furnishing stores in the Netherlands with multiple locations across the country.

My responsibilities at the studio included gathering products from the store to style photos, graphic design, creating video content, product design, and designing packaging.

During my internship, I had the opportunity to contribute to the production of four magazines, and you can even find me in two photos within these magazines.

It was an educational experience where I had a lot of creative freedom and gained insights into the behind-the-scenes process of magazine and social media content photoshoots. Additionally, I learned valuable techniques for capturing interior photos, including the best angles to showcase the interior’s beauty.

In addition to photo styling, I have been involved in the graphic design of the magazine, as well as offline and online branding.
