DESIGN COMPUTING

Become a champion in design technology

This year’s design competition challenges teams to push the boundaries of technology in design—leveraging AI, computational tools, VR, or any approved innovation to enhance workflows and creativity. With expert support and real-world application, this is an opportunity to experiment, learn, and help shape the firm’s future technology strategies.

y The 2025 design competition will feature an open-ended technology innovation requirement.

y Teams can integrate and experiment with design technology of their choice.

y The goal is to upskill staff, uncover new workflows, foster creativity, and cultivate a culture of learning and innovation with support from design technology experts across Stantec.

CLIENT

A small-scale electric aerospace company that originated from university-based applied research is seeking a ground up facility for their Corporate Offices including support and amenity spaces, a Research and Development Laboratory, and an Advanced Manufacturing floor for product development and testing.

A key priority is to foster a seamless connection between research, commercialization, and product development—bridging the gap from concept to final product. Additionally, the organization is deeply committed to the well-being of its workforce, the surrounding community, and environmental sustainability. The design solution must embody these core principles, ensuring a positive impact on all three.
