ASEAN INTEGRATION: PICE Qatar Initiatives The integration of the ten Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) countries namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam into one economic community is anticipated to generate significant opportunities for Filipino professionals and entrepreneurs. The Philippines being the Chairman of ASEAN 2017, continues to pursue and enhance cooperation with its regional neighbors and become dynamic and vibrant allies envisioning a future that is prosperous for all citizens.

Organization (AFEO) continues to gear up for the challenges of the integration by providing initiatives and assistance to its members to meet the requirements set forth in being an accredited professional. Its goals aim to collect, tabulate and disseminate information on the education systems, engineering curriculum, recognition of degrees, accreditation of qualifications and requirements for achieving professional engineer status of each ASEAN Institutions.

This year’s theme - ASEAN 50 Philippines 2017: “Partnering for Change Engaging the World” reflects the Philippine government’s advocacy to promote unity with and among ASEAN member states and its global partners.

The Philippines Technological Council (PTC) have been nominated and appointed the permanent Chairmanship to prepare the findings and to standardize the level of engineering competence required for attainment of professional engineer status with relation to the regulation of each of the ASEAN countries.

Being one community, with one shared identity and one vision, PICE Qatar Chapter in cooperation with PICE National Leadership, Philippine Technological Council (PTC) and ASEAN Federation of Engineering

Since 2015 and up to date, through the initiatives of previous and present PICE Qatar Leadership, a total of 52 ASEAN Engineers, 2 Associate ASEAN Engineers and 24 ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers
