Your instructor will show you how to decorate, step by step, so that you experience the excitement of successfully decorating your first cake. You will also learn tips on how to bake a great cake, see how to make and color icing, and learn the best way to ice a cake. You will practice basic fundamentals of decorating, enabling you to approach each technique the right way for great results. Along the way, you will learn to create various types of icing drop flowers, leaves, roses, etc. You will learn just how easy it is to create the perfect cake for any occasion. Participants will be required to purchase a supply kit prior to class, which is not included in the course fee.

Participants are required to take “Cake Decorating I”, prior to taking this course. The instructor will show you how to decorate cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other desserts, step by step, so that you can make your own creations for any occasion.

Along the way, you will learn various types of frosting designs including the basket weave, simple string work, working with royal frosting, simple figure piping, etc. You will learn just how easy it is to create the perfect dessert for any occasion.

Spend a fun evening preparing delicious dinners—all ready and set to go in the crockpot. Each dinner will be freezable. The number of meals you will take away after class will vary depending on the number of participants in class, a minimum of six meals are guaranteed with four servings per meal. KETOGENIC COOKING

This course will provide an overview of the Ketogenic diet while covering the basics and providing tips and suggestions for cooking healthy meals that fit into a Ketogenic lifestyle. Recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and treats will be handed out.

We will prepare some ketogenic foods. Basic information on the keto diet will be provided, along with some tasty recipes that will show you that you do not need to feel deprives with this way of eating! We will make keto pizza in some form, cheeseburger chowder, mug cakes.

OIL FURNACE & BOILER MANINTENANCE

WELDING III

This course teaches you how to service and perform light repair of your home oil furnace or boiler. The class will include a breakdown of all the major components of a typical oil furnace and boiler, as well as their job within the system.

Students will learn properties of combustion, air/fuel mixture, flame quality, air distribution, and maintenance of an oil heating system. Students will have a chance to tear down and rebuild a typical oil burner unit, as well as preventative care and learning what specialty tools a technician uses in the field. The class will conclude with troubleshooting, repair techniques, and parts procurement. Each student will receive a set of nozzle/ignitor gap tools for Beckett oil burners and a handy reference and troubleshooting guide.

This course is for practicing and using techniques specific to the D.O.T. Bridge Welding Certification exam. Participants must have prior welding experience.

SMALL ENGINE REPAIR I

INSTRUCTOR: THOMAS MARSHALL Come learn to perform preventative maintenance, service, and troubleshooting that will help you avoid frustrating problems.

In this course we will cover: the difference between two and four stroke engine operation, float bowl and diaphragm carburetors, simple tune-ups, and preventative maintenance strategies. We will show you how and when to service your small engines. You will also learn proper troubleshooting techniques, so you can avoid costly repair shop bills.

Students are encouraged to bring in their own engines to work on. Our classroom does have engines to work with if you are not able to bring one in. At the first class, the instructor will determine what equipment can be used.

INSTRUCTOR: THOMAS MARSHALL This advanced course will cover the internal workings of the two and four stroke internal combustion engine. You will gain the knowledge of what it takes to make an engine run. Students will completely disassemble, learn how to use precision measuring tools, recondition, and reassemble an internal combustion engine. If you have a tired old engine that could benefit from a fresh rebuild, this is the time to do it yourself. *Prerequisite: Basic Small Engine Repair Students can bring in their own equipment to repair as you learn.
