I am Feelish, an artist with a degree in design communication visuals. I have been working as a freelance illustrator since 2019 and have collaborated with many different authors, publishers and organizations in Indonesia. I am most passionate with illustration, especially in children books, chapter books, and young adult novels. Until now, I have been illustrating stories about tradition, slice of life, and dreams. But, I have always been interested in fantasy, horor and fairy tales. I mostly work digitally with procreate and photoshop. I used color as my main way to express the mood of the story. I also like to play with visual metaphors because I believe that visual is the most basic language for all of us.

Penenun Mimpi (The Dream Weaver) A biography about Itrin, a girl from Sumba who wants to see the world and do something useful for her community. I used the visual metaphors “butterfly” and “threads” to illus trate Itrin’s dreams. At the end of the story, the threads are all connected into a beautiful sumba cloth.

Written and illustrated by myself, this book wants to bring awareness of Commercial fishing. The story revolves around a mermaid called Beena who wants to be friends with humans at first, but as the story goes on, Beena realizes that not all humans are as nice as she thought.

ssst, rahasia (Ssst, it’s a Secret)
This story is about a boy who was abused by his uncle. It wants to tell children that it’s okay to be honest and they should be open to their parents. I used a gray balloon as a metaphor for the “secret”. The gray balloon is seen to be always beside the boy but at the end of the story, the boy succeeds in telling the “secret” and pops his balloon.

Butterfly (Butterfly) My personal project about a sibling who is chasing after a shiny butterfly. At the end they found something unexpected.

Hara was born with a disability to hear sound, but she is special. Despite all of her shortcomings, she can hear from “vibration” through the ground, the wind, and all the things around her. But sadly not everyone understands. She can’t take part in the “silat” competition because she is deaf. However, she decided to not give up.
