•ItisdrivenbytheevidencedneedsofCornwall&IslesofScilly businessesandinformedbylocalstrategicprioritiessuchas thoselaidoutintheLocalIndustrialStrategy,Vision2030,Ten OpportunitiesandtheGoodGrowthInvestmentPlan

•StatisticsfromONS,Lightcast,curriculummapping,gap analysis,ongoingbusinessengagementandothersourcesare alsousedtoensurethatimprovementswillbemeasuredand meaningful.

•Theobjectiveofstage2isembedding theLSIPprocessinthelocalskills system.EachdesignatedERBwillbe expectedtogalvanisecollaborativeaction withlocalemployers,providersand stakeholders,tosupportthedeliveryofthe actionableprioritiesandtheroadmapset outintheLSIP.

•ThedesignatedERBsneedtoregularly reviewtheirLSIPandwillbeexpectedto provideanannualprogressreportinJune ’24and’25.

LocalSkillsImprovementFund(LSIF):PolicyAims

LSIPsaresupportedbythe£165mLocalSkillsImprovement Fund(LSIF),whichwillhelpFEprovidersacrossageographicarea respondcollectivelytotheprioritiesintheLSIPs.

TheLSIFisdesignedtosupporttransformationalactivityacrosseach ofthe38geographicareascoveredbytheLSIPsandbuildsonthe StrategicDevelopmentFund(SDF)whichwaspilotedin2021-22and rolledoutacrossEnglandin2022-23.

Atleast£2.5mLSIFfundinghasbeenmadeavailabletoeacharea, withmanyareasabletoapplyforahigherleveloffunding,reflecting theirlargerworkingagepopulation,aswellasexistingattainmentand productivitylevels.

LSIFfundingwillhelpplugsomeofthekeyskillsgapsemployers identifiedthroughtheLSIPsby:

•providinginvestmentinnewfacilitiesandequipment

•fundingthedevelopmentanddeliveryofnewcoursesand curriculum
