Corowa Saleyards Consultative Committee
Federation Council is looking for a community representative to join our Corowa Saleyards Consultative Committee. This vital committee meets twice a year, providing a direct link between Council and stakeholders. Its purpose is to foster two-way communication, ensuring Council is fully informed of stakeholder needs and priorities for the Corowa Saleyards – both now and into the future. The Corowa Saleyards is a significant facility, operating as the fifth largest sheep and lamb livestock exchange in New South Wales. It’s proudly owned and managed by Federation Council. COROWA, HOWLONG & MULWALA FLOOD STUDY 2025
Flood Studies are complex and technical projects. In response to community feedback expressing the complex and technical nature of the reports, Council has developed a Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) document to provide the community with answers to commonly asked questions. The FAQ document is available from Council’s website.

NAIDOC WEEK
Federation Council advises that there are significant delays to all applications being lodged for each stage of the development process. Staff shortages, in conjunction with the increasing complexity of the NSW Planning Portal Processes required to be undertaken by Council has seen pre-lodgement assessment times increasing to 6-8 weeks and average determination times taking between 10-12 weeks. We ask you for your cooperation as Council officers concentrate on clearing the backlog of applications while maintaining all other legislated services.
INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT & DESIGNATED DEVELOPMENT APPLICATION
Federation Council, being the consent authority has received an application (DA 10.2025.76.1) seeking development consent to construct a 72 Berth Marina with Primary Jetty and Harbour accessibility upgrades. Lot 292 DP1195096, Lot 398 DP823321.
The development proposed is for a 72 Berth Marina with Primary Jetty and Harbour accessibility upgrades and is defined as integrated development and designated development under the provisions of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. The application is referred to the following agencies:
Crown Lands, NSW Fisheries, Water NSW, Transport for NSW, Transport for NSW, Moira Council, Goulburn Murray Water, Murray Darling Basin Authority, NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment.
Any person may inspect this application and accompanying instruments at the following Federation Council locations from now until Wednesday 30 July, 2025 during normal office hours:

A person who makes a submission by way of an objection and who is not satisfied with the determination of the application has a right of appeal to the NSW Land and Environment Court.
NOTICE OF ROAD WORKS - SAVERNAKE ROAD MULWALA
Federation Council advises that contractors on behalf of European Energy are currently undertaking upgrade works at the intersection of Lambruck lane and Savernake road Mulwala.
The upgrade works are a requirement of the Mulwala Solar Farm development for improved road safety and vehicle access to the Solar Farm site. Minor traffic delays are possible during the upgrade works that are estimated to take up to 4 weeks to complete. Residents are advised to take care and follow traffic signage and speed reductions in the vicinity of the work site that will be in place during the works. Federation Council apologises for any inconvenience caused. CODE OF MEETING PRACTICE
At Council’s June ordinary meeting, Council endorsed the draft Code of Meeting Practice for public exhibition for a period of 28 days.
This code applies to all meetings of councils and committees of councils of which all the members are councillors (committees of council). Council committees (usually referred to as Advisory Committees) whose members include persons other than councillors will be bound by this Code of Meeting Practice unless the council determines otherwise.
Council is inviting residents to review the draft document and provide any feedback by 5pm, Friday 25 July, 2025. The draft document is available for viewing on Council’s website or at any Council office.
