Jewel Park A21 05
Jewel Park A21
Presents beauty in the simplicity of modern style while accommodating all client needs. Located in the residential cluster Jewel Park, Jalan Starban, Polonia, the semi-private functions on the first floor, including a foyer, children’s study area, living room, dining room, open-concept kitchen, food storage, and service area. The more private rooms are located on the second floor and two mezzanines, featuring a master bedroom, children’s room, and parents' room. Additionally, the client required a home office on the third floor for remote work, while the third-floor mezzanine includes a guest room and is dominated by other service areas such as a laundry room, storage room, and drying room.
Jewel Park A21 06
The house is dominated by antique white and soft wood colors, creating a soft and neutral impression. In the foyer and children’s study area, the ceiling is lower than in the living room due to the existing mezzanine floor concept, with WPC panel ceilings used to emphasize the transition between the foyer and the living room, which has a higher ceiling. The living room features a wide opening that leads to the kitchen, minimizing the need for artificial lighting during the day.

stributing fresh air into the house
The open kitchen concept was client’s primary focus during the layout-ing process. However, this concept can attract insects like mosquitoes and flies. To address this, the kitchen area has a transparent roof to maximize natural light, with parts of the roof using wire mesh to allow air and rainwater to enter, adding natural coolness. The house can independently absorb rainwater through a mini courtyard that helps reabsorb rainwater into the ground.

Taman Hutan Kota PLN
Taman Hutan Kota PLN 31
Medan City Forest Park is one of the parks maintained by PT. PLN. Located in the center of Medan city, on Jalan Sudirman close to the Beringin Park, the park carries the concept of an 'Art Space' by creating a proper garden to meet the community's need for outdoor space. It can be a place for all people to mingle in public spaces and apply the WSUD concept to riverside areas.
Combining all concepts, starting from the art space with a contemporary theme in the garden design concept, several functions are included in this city park to achieve these needs. These functions include a food court, art installations, a charging station, a playground, a sitting area, and a dock.

The city park, which is lower than the adjacent highway, requires access via stairs and ramps that are friendly to all communities. In the design of this city park, there is a river that has the potential to be an active space, but it is neglected, thus a wooden pier serves as a connector.
Several supporting functions include a food court that caters to basic human needs, specifically eating, with a street food concept, and facilities for electronic devices in case of urgent needs. Additionally, there are public outdoor spaces that are child-friendly, interactive art walls that visitors can use for drawing and writing, and these walls also serve as a barrier to the river view, which is not aesthetically pleasing.
Taman Hutan Kota PLN 33
The design is disabled-friendly by featuring a ramp made of wooden planks (mounted hollow) with a gentle trajectory that is 1/15 of the height to be achieved. In addition, there are tactile dots and tactile lines that form a complete line.
The design facilitates the need for electronic devices in case of urgent situations, featuring a roof and covered electrical outlets that are suitable for outdoor spaces. Wooden materials are used to provide a natural, contextual impression. The Lee Kwan Yew climbing plants, which not only serve as functional art but also provide a space for the plants to grow.
Taman Hutan Kota PLN 34
Creating a public outdoor space that is friendly for children by providing a set of playground equipment to train children's sensory and motor skills. Safe and colorful metal materials attract children's interest. Additionally, the pavement material is made of colored vinyl, making it safe for children.
Facilitating the primary human need for food, the design incorporates a street food concept. The paving material used is perforated, allowing water to seep into the ground. The color and texture differ from pedestrian areas, providing a distinct separation of spaces.
Taman Hutan Kota PLN 35
Lastly, elements often overlooked but essential to landscape furniture, such as trash bins, garden lights, and seating areas, are indispensable in public parks. Beyond their functionality, these elements significantly enhance the park's ambiance and user experience. By promoting cleanliness, safety, and comfort, they create an inviting atmosphere where visitors can relax, socialize, and appreciate nature.
Well-placed seating areas encourage community interaction, while aesthetically pleasing garden lights add charm and extend the park's usability into the evening. Overall, these essential features elevate the quality of public parks, making them beloved hubs of recreation and enjoyment for people of all ages.

Model Artwork
Creating models is an activity I truly enjoy, probably because I love practical tasks and solving problems. When working on models, I encounter numerous challenges and eventually come up with solutions I had never thought of before. Doing it is such a stress relief, even though it adds a new kind of stress.
I have also learned a lot about different materials and how to care for them. For example, there are many types of glue, but not all of them can be used on every material. Hot glue, for instance, creates a 3D effect when it dries, making it less effective on flat surfaces. Similarly, water-based paper glue is not suitable for wood.

Our latest project, with all its challenges and complexities, has been a new experience for us. The arrangement of asymmetrical geometric fields on the façade, combined with the interplay of solid and perforated materials, adds a unique touch.
Monolab.Co 38
Perforated mesh material was our choice for the facade, but it was a bit challenging because perforated material is both holey and transparent. Therefore, if applied with glue, it would be visible and messy. After exploring various material options, we found instant stick-on mosquito netting, which has a pattern very similar to our 3D design. Its advantages ultimately led us to choose this instant netting.

This architectural model represents a collaborative SME building located near the University of North Sumatra.
The design features a combination of solid and transparent roofing, utilizing Birmet and tracing paper to mimic the transparent sections. The facade incorporates a secondary skin made of WPC, presenting a unique challenge due to the varying heights of it.
