What Key Club Means To Me Bayley Riddle, Club President Of all of the odd things that have come my way and the random hobbies I picked up, Key Club made the least amount of sense when I came across it. I’m not exactly sure why I even joined in the first place. The newly found use of my free-time? The volunteer hours incentive? I’ve learned over the course of my time in Key Club exactly what that reason was. It became a place of refuge from the pressures in my life. Even if this club has been the source of my stress at many times, it was the kind of stress you get from doing something you love. Key Club also became a compass for me, turning my life in a whole new direction. My perspective changed as I found a passion for service and leadership. It inspired me to focus my time and energy on helping those around me. Not only has my outlook on life changed drastically, but I’ve also become a completely different person through meaningful service in Key Club. Most importantly, Key Club has made me the happiest I’ve ever been with all of the amazing friends I’ve made and the incredible people I’ve met.

executive comm Stara D’Haiti District Governor I cannot describe my excitement to serve as your 2019-2020 District Governor. Our 81st annual District Education and Leadership Conference was truly the greatest DCON on Earth, and I would like to thank you for the amazing memories, support, and inspiration. I would like to commend you all for all your achievements this past service year and look forward to what you all have in store this year. The drive of the members of the Florida District will take us to new heights as we utilize our resources to surpass goals club by club.

This year, I hope to focus on growing each club in our district. Whether I have the opportunity to work personally with club officers, through a Lieutenant Governor, or to provide resources through publications like these, I hope to help clubs make progress this year. I hope to create efficient resources for the District Board and club officers that help us strengthen the service our clubs provide and deepen our connections with the communities we serve. As we delve deeper into the service year, our clubs will participate in impactful service projects and attract new members. I encourage you all to explore my Governor’s Project: Generation Green. Our goal is to promote environmental success through service, advocacy, and action.

We will accomplish much this year through communication and engagement. As such I encourage you all to reach out to your Lieutenant Governors and follow our social media platforms for a numerous amount of resources at hand. I hope to see you all soon either at a club, zone, or district event or ICON in Baltimore this summer! I am so excited to watch all of your clubs grow one step at a time.

My name is William An, and I could not be more excited to serve as your 2019-2020 District Editor. My goal for this service year is to be a resource to you and your clubs. I hope to facilitate a greater exchange of ideas within our district by highlighting the amazing work your clubs do as well as accept your input for district publications, such as this very one you are reading right now! Additionally, as the service year goes on, I plan to create resources for you and your clubs to use to create publications that are both informative and eye-catching. Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to serve you; I cannot wait to see where this year takes us! My name is Jocelyn Hurst, and this year I have been blessed with the honor and responsibility to serve as your District Secretary.

I am ecstatic to be working with our incredible District Board, and I can only imagine the inevitable success that will come. I have three main goals for this year.

-Submitting Pride Reports- I want to increase the submission of Pride Reports throughout the Florida District by at least 5% this year.

-Updating Officer Information Forms- This task is essential to a successful Key Club year. It is very important to have all of the correct, working contact information for our officers so that the information flows smoothly throughout our mighty District.

-Never Be Alone- As your secretary I will do my absolute best to complete all that is expected of me and then some. I want it to be known throughout the District that you are never alone. Please don’t be afraid to reach out to anyone, including me, for anything. We are a family, and we are here to serve each other. Here’s to the extraordinary year ahead!

Aamir Lacewala District Treasurer Hello amazing Key Clubbers!

I could not be more excited to serve as your District Treasurer for this next year of service. A little about me: I am a VERY competitive person, so I will not rest until we not only meet, but exceed every accomplishment we achieved last year. Our last board set a very high bar to surpass so we will need a lot of hard work from everyone involved. I will continually promote FLOF and YOF to make your service projects stronger. I will also put full effort towards increasing the number of dues-paying clubs.

Everything we do on this board is to help our members, our clubs, and our service, so please reach out to me for any help at all. Thank you all!

DCON Recap

From April 4th to April 7th, the Florida District of Key Club International held its 81st annual District Education and Leadership Conference, also known as DCON. This year's theme was “Service at the Circus.� The event welcomed more than 2,200 Key Clubbers, Kiwanians, and Advisors from across Florida and the Cayman Islands. Attendees participated in activities such as a scavenger hunt, service fair, talent show, ice cream social, and much more, all the while meeting new friends and deepening their passion for service and leadership. From electing our new District Officers to hearing amazing Keynote Speakers, DCON is truly a one of a kind experience. If your club is interested in attending DCON 2020, please start thinking about fundraising now! Thirst Project hopes to educate the next generation by arming students with information about how they can be a part of social change, make a difference and encourage others to join in the effort.

Landscape Structures (LSI) has joined Kiwanis International as a vision partner to bring play to communities across the globe. LSI is proud to provide high-quality commercial playground equipment and planning consultation services that reflect the high degree of integrity that Kiwanis clubs expect.

Nickelodeon currently presents two major campaigns each year that encourage action in kids globally. Worldwide Day of Play reinforces Nickelodeon’s mission to make the world a more playful place by leading active, playful events across the country. Nickelodeon’s Get Dirty campaign seeks to educate kids, families and teachers about what they can do to help protect the planet in fun, mindful ways.

The U.S. Army empowers tomorrow’s leaders by offering advanced schooling for today’s top careers. Not only that, programs like the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and March2Success.com allow students to go to college debt free and excel in the classroom with helpful academic resources.

Up with People strives to develop a sense of social responsibility in their participants through hands on community service.

Service projects are integrated into each city visited during the semester. By volunteering to meet the specific needs of each community, participants develop insight into how different cultures address social and political challenges.

Squads Abroad is a program of Cross-Cultural Solutions (CCS), the world's leading expert in international volunteering. Since 1995, CCS has empowered more than 35,000 volunteers to improve child health and educational outcomes around the world.

n a l s I n a Caym The Florida District of Key Club International is comprised of both Florida and the Cayman Islands. The Cayman Islands consists of 5 Key Clubs: 1. Cayman Prep & High School 2. Clifton Hunter High School 3. John Gray High School 4. St. Ignatius Catholic School 5. Triple C School These 5 schools make up Division 26D, and their Lieutenant Governor is Dayanah Sobrun. They had their Installation Ceremony along with their first Divisional Council Meeting on Saturday, May 25th, 2019. (bottom) Easter Egg Hunt on April 12th, 2019 at John Gray High School. Members decorated eggs, filled them with chocolate and hid them around the school. Tickets were sold and they raised $175! 30 members participated, and a total of 53 hours were performed.

(top) Earth Day Clean Up on April 13th, 2019 was done in George Town, Aspiration Drive. It was a really hot day, yet the Key Clubbers were determined to cover as much ground as possible! 8 members participated, and a total of 24 hours were performed.

t c e j o r P s ’ r o n r e Gov Governor Stara D’Haiti’s project is Generation Green. It is aimed at combating Climate Change by engaging in hands-on and impactful service, participating in advocacy, and taking direct action by assisting those who fall vulnerable to adversity regarding natural disasters. With the summer season in full swing, it is the perfect time to participate in the Governor’s Project. Some projects include: beach cleanups, volunteering at your local environmental center, and planting gardens.
