Landscape Architecture
Did you know that landscape architects plan, project and manage outdoor spaces where people live, work and have fun, harmonising aesthetic, functional and environmental values? Bioinformatics
Bioinformatics is a discipline at the interface of the ongoing revolutions in biology and computer science. It aims to analyse and understand biological and biomedical data, particularly at the cellular and molecular level. It involves the development and application of algorithms and computational tools, namely artificial intelligence and machine learning, to organise, analyse and extract relevant information from large sets of biological data, contributing to advances in areas such as genomics and other omics, genetics, systems biology, pathology, ecology, evolution, epidemiology, among others.
Degree in partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy and Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar, in cooperation with Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto (university hospital), research units and companies.

Biology
The Biology degree provides theoretical and practical training (laboratory and field research) in the main areas of biology including biodiversity, human biology, ecology, evolution, physiology, genetics and microbiology; all areas are approached through a combination of traditional and modern methods originating in the fields of cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry and biotechnology.

Biochemistry
The Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from FCUP provides a solid foundation in the fundamentals of Biochemistry. Students acquire scientific and technological skills applicable to Research in University Laboratories, Research Centres or companies, in basic or applied sciences; comprehension of molecular architecture, division and differentiation of cells, or the manipulation of molecules and cells to produce biologically active substances (e.g., new drugs).

Agricultural Engineering
The 1st cycle in Agricultural Engineering aims at providing students with solid training founded on the basic Agricultural sciences, with a stream focused on Agrarian Production and an alternative stream focused on Food Science and Technology. The course is designed to allow students to acquire and consolidate the essential skills necessary to work as qualified professionals in the areas of primary and secondary production.

The degree in Engineering Physics is shared with the Faculty of Engineering, in a partnership that continues up to the PhD.

The Faculty of Sciences is located at “Pole III” of the University of Porto - Campo Alegre. It is characterized by a vast space made up of six buildings and more than 50,000m² of landscaped green spaces.
