NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND FINANCING BY THE CITY OF FALLS CHURCH, VIRGINIA

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Falls Church, Virginia (the "City") will hold a public hearing on Monday, October 26, 2020, in accordance with Section 15.2-2606 of the Code of Virginia of 1950, as amended, on the issuance of general obligation public improvement and refunding bonds of the City in the estimated aggregate maximum amount of $11,800,000 for the following purposes:

1. Bond proceeds in an estimated maximum principal amount of $750,000 will be used to finance the costs, in whole or in part, of various capital improvement projects and issuance of the bonds. The City expects that it may use more than ten percent of such proceeds to finance all or a portion of the costs of each of the following: (i) improvements to the City's stormwater system and (ii) sanitary sewer plant upgrades. 2. Approximately $11,050,000 of bond proceeds will be used to pay the costs of refunding, in whole or in part, certain outstanding bonds and notes previously issued by the City. The public hearing, which may be continued or adjourned, will be held at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, in accordance with applicable laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the public hearing will be held virtually. To speak at the public hearing, complete a speaker form at www.fallschurchva.gov/PublicComment before noon on October 26, 2020. Following submission of the form, you will receive emailed instructions to join the virtual City Council meeting. Written public hearing comments may be sent until noon on October 26, 2020 to cityclerk@fallschurchva.gov. Council members will attend the meeting through electronic means and members of the public may view the meeting at www.fallschurchva.gov/CouncilMeetings and on FCCTV (Cox 11, RCN 2, Verizon 35). Video will be available after the meeting both online and on FCCTV.
