Organization Summary: The Sisters of Saint Joseph of St. Augustine, Florida (SSJ) are a congregation of Catholic women living the consecrated life as vowed religious serving the needs of the dear neighbor in Florida. With their Motherhouse in St. Augustine, Florida, the Sisters of St. Joseph are women who, seized by God’s love, work in collaboration with others to bring union and reconciliation to our world, “..that all may be one..” (John 17:21). They strive to live lives of Gospel values through a variety of ministries of service and through the witness of living together in prayer-centered communities. They have served continuously in Florida since 1866. Position Summary: The Director of Mission Integration works collaboratively with the leadership of SSJ to ensure the Congregation’s work is grounded in the Gospel of Jesus Christ in harmony with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the charism of SSJ. This position helps work with parishes and priests, identifies strategic partnerships, recruits short-term and long-term volunteers to help with community endeavors, and works with congregational associates to build a unifying reconciling people to God and to one another. The Director of Mission Integration is well-versed in the Gospel, the teachings of the Catholic Church and the charism of SSJ. This position requires a commitment to personal prayer and discernment by living the Gospel, the Catholic Church’s teachings and the charism of SSJ in both personal and public behavior.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The Director of Mission Integration shall: 1. Lead recruitment effort of short-term and long-term volunteers to help with SSJ initiatives and priorities. 2. Help foster relationships with local parishes and priests throughout Florida to identify individuals who would be effective partners in the furtherance of SSJ’s ministries. 3. Identify affinity groups with whom SSJ should be in dialogue and who may have potential candidates that would be interested in the charism and mission of SSJ. 4. Create opportunities for members of SSJ to be in conversation with the community and/or community needs in which SSJ may be a voice for those who do not have one. 5. Work with SSJ Leadership Team to create an environment that allows SSJ community to enter more intimately into a relationship with Christ that invites putting faith in action. 6. Collaborate with SSJ Leadership Team to integrate the Gospel, Catholic Church teachings, and the charism of SSJ into all facets of life including operational activities, cultural activities and decision making. 7. Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion rooted in the charism of the Congregation and mission of Christ that “…that all may be one…”.


8. Participate in programs and experiences to deepen relationships with Christ and further understand the Gospel, teachings of the Catholic Church and the charism of the Sisters. 9. Seek to understand important patterns and research tied to the faith formation of young women. 10. Build and strengthens partnerships with Catholic universities and seminaries. Has developed a spirituality consistent with the mission, charism and values of SSJ. Demonstrates a history of effective and collaborative leadership. Strong interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse group of priests, lay people, volunteers, staff and Sisters. Able to design engaging formation programs tailored to diverse and varying settings and stakeholders. Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, web-based, emerging platforms). Strong computer literacy; proficient with Microsoft Office and Teams. Uses language that is sensitive to ethnicity, race, gender and culture. Demonstrates history of effectively convening, facilitating and motivating diverse groups. Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Job Specifications:      

Master’s degree strongly preferred in fields of practical theology, spirituality or other faith-based educational subjects (bachelor’s degree with experience considered). Experience working with a Sister of St. Joseph Congregation is preferred. 3-5 years of Mission Integration experience, preferably in a Catholic organization. Due to the nature of this position, it is required that the Director of Mission Integration be a practicing Roman Catholic who is registered and active in a parish and possesses a working knowledge of Catholic teaching and doctrine. Has an advanced understanding of Catholic teachings and is willing to continue to grow in these understandings, including the Catholic social teachings, and understands how these teachings are expressed and lived through the charism of SSJ. Willing to grow in the knowledge of SSJ’s spirituality, mission, charism, history and core values, as well as the mission and core values of St. Joseph Neighborhood Center.
