On May 2, 2023, p p g first- or second-grade classrooms “ swap schools” for an afternoon to experience how STEAM & maker pedagogies are thriving in a classroom different from theirs Participating schools will connect virtually, and students will plan, create, and iterate their very own crafty catapult! Live feed of this record-breaking design challenge will stream to schools across the state as we launch Remake Learning Days in Pennsylvania! Some schools will be selected for additional media opportunities upon receiving district permission.

Launch Remake Learning Days 2023 across Pennsylvania Connect teachers and students virtually for meaningful connections and collaborative learning activities
Encourage exploration of new parts of Pennsylvania
Provide positive media opportunities for your district Cultivate engineering concepts in elementary school students – all while having a blast!

WHAT?
discoverED is a collaboration, design challenge, and the launch/media kickoff of Remake Learning Days across Pennsylvania
WHEN?

First- and second-grade classrooms across Pa.
WHY?
discoverED is an opportunity for schools that differ in demographics to partner and swap students for an afternoon and to experience how STEAM and maker practices positively impact kids. discoverED’s virtual collaboration opportunities will create meaningful connections between teachers and students for years to come.
HOW?
Due to the generous support of the Grable Foundation, the Fox Chapel Area School District, and the Avonworth School District, participating districts will receive virtual support, media packets, and design challenge supplies shipped to their schools at no cost to their district.

• January 11, 2023: Interest form opens
• February 13, 2023: Visit our discoverED 2023 presentation at PETE&C from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at Table 5, Kilimanjaro Lounge
• February 14, 2023: Check out the Remake Learning Days Innovation Showcase at PETE&C from 9:30 a m -12:30 in Salon H Catch the ignite talk on discoverED by Dr Megan Collett, executive director of instructional and innovative leadership for the Fox Chapel Area School District, from 10-10:30 a m , also in Salon H
• March 21, 2023: Interest form closes

• April 13, 2023: Partnerships will be announced
• April 17-26, 2023: Connect virtually with your partner class (optional virtual icebreaker activities and design thinking prompts will be shared with all participants)
• April 17-28, 2023: Receive supplies for crafty catapult challenge
• May 2, 2023: Connect virtually with your partner school and stream the crafty catapult challenge live to hundreds of schools
• May 4-23: Remake Learning Days across Pennsylvania
