Gold & White Grant Awards

The Friends of Bishop McDevitt are proud to announce the winners of our 3rd annual Gold & White Grants. In order to qualify for a grant, each applicant had to be related to a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, will attend a Catholic high school in the fall and also submit an essay on 'Why a Catholic education is important to them'.

Over 30 students from area Catholic grade schools applied for the Gold & White Grants and the following 10 students were each awarded a $1000 grant to be used towards their tuition for the 2024-25 school year.

The Friends of Bishop McDevitt

Our mission is to honor and preserve the history of Bishop McDevitt High School. A main objective of our organization is to hold annual events for alumni and friends of Bishop McDevitt to keep the Lancer spirit alive. We are proud to be able to honor alumni at the Hall of Fame induction in the spring and also remember our deceased classmates at the annual Alumni Memorial Mass each fall. Our beloved high school may be closed, but the Royal Lancer spirit will live on through the Friends of Bishop McDevitt.

The Friends of Bishop McDevitt would like to thank The Knights of Columbus Flaherty Council for allowing us to use a room in their building that we have named 'The McDevitt Room'.

We are truly grateful to the Flaherty Council for partnering with us to preserve the history of our Alma Mater.
