The reach FBLA has to revolutionize our future is amazing!

Welcome to the Tomorrow‘s Business Leader Magazine. The spring edition of Tomorrow’s Business Leader, a quarterly magazine, is designed especially to publicize the efforts and stories of FBLA students from all over.

Our goal is to make our magazine for readers who may want to know more about FBLA or for current FBLA members and sponsors. We want our magazine to be entertaining and informative, but above all useful. Inside you’ll find a mixture of news, features, and interviews on a wide range of FBLA members, stories, and topics.

We have a feature on Ms. Dottie Strahan who has been an FBLA sponsor for 10 years at White Hall High School. We also have a featured article covering White Hall High School FBLA a FBLA chapter whose involvement in the community has helped established the chapter as a key community contributor.

Why should students join FBLA?

FBLA is an organization dedicated to helping students connect, achieve, explore, discover, and inspire. FBLA connects students with similar interests and also with the business community. FBLA offers numerous opportunities to succeed through a series of awards, scholarships, and competitions. Through FBLA, students can explore new business topics, concepts and ideas. Students are able to discover business as a whole through numerous seminars, workshops and conferences. Through FBLA students can become leaders as well as role models.

How long have you been an FBLA sponsor?

Ten years.

What lessons or advice would you give students looking into business careers?

My advice would be to take as many business courses that you can. The more business courses that you take, the greater your chances are to achieve the business career that you choose.

Do you have any fun memories or stories from FBLA? My favorite memories are when the WHHS FBLA members sponsor fostered children for Christmas. Every year many of the members take their own personal time to meet at Walmart and select gifts for children we sponsor. It is so touching to me to see them put so much heart and soul into the gifts they select. It means a lot to me and the children that receive the gifts.

What are your next goals for the WHHS FBLA Chapter?

My first goal would be for the FBLA Chapter to get involved with the March of Dimes.

The March of Dimes is FBLA-PBL’s national service partner. For over 40 years FBLAPBL has consistently ranked as the top March of Dimes youth fundraising partner, raising over 15 million dollars. Another goal is to get more FBLA members to compete.

We have so many bright and intelligent FBLA members that could win at nationals.

Years of excellency established November 11, 1973, White Hall High School FBLA (WHHS FBLA) has been preparing students for the business world for over 4 decades. Under the leadership and guide of Ms. Dottie Strahan, WHHS FBLA has excelled in membership. WHHS FBLA members not only succeed in the business but also in school and community service.

By becoming active citizens in their community WHHS FBLA members learn skills to take with them throughout a life time. Some of the major programs that WHHS FBLA participate in are the shopping for Angels on the angel Tree, the WHHS Annual Business Party, and FBLA competitions.

One of the highlight activities WHHS FBLA completed this year was shopping for gifts for Angels on the Angel Tree.

Members used their personal time to go meet at Wal-Mart to find Angels’ gifts.

When I explain why I joined and the many things I received from my membership, three things come to mind: cultivating leadership skills, making life long friends, and growing as a citizen and student. Through FBLA, I have been able to meet friends and bond through our passions for the business world. I have also been able to learn about the business world from my mentors and peers. Through this learning process and my three years I have spent within the program, I have grown as a citizen and as a student within the program. The program is a fantastic way to learn, grow, and bond with others.

Watson Chapel High School FBLA Years Active: 4 FBLA is a wonderful organization that teaches you not only to serve others, but how to lead them as well.

Through FBLA, I have been able to learn business and management skills that I would not have been able to learn otherwise in school, as well as strengthen my natural leadership skills. I would recommend any student consider joining, whether they know they want to go into a corporate job or not, because no matter what you decide to do they will need strong leaders.
