Junior Irish Night & Homecoming

Rescheduling our Homecoming festivities to late October did not stop Ryan Nation from showing their Irish Pride! More than 1,200 Junior Irish members and their families, enjoyed the beautiful weather with inflatables, festival games, food trucks, a DJ, swag bags, and more.

Across campus, our annual Pride in the Pit BBQ Contest featured some of Nashville’s best barbecue with 17 teams competing for the People’s Choice Award. After guests sampled the food and cast their votes, the judges crowned the top team as our Grand Pitmasters!

These pre-game festivities were the perfect start to our Homecoming football game where the Irish enjoyed a 45-14 win over Christian Brothers High School, securing a second-round playoff game at home!

Irish Insights: The Father Ryan Blog November's Topic: Understanding Tuition and Tuition Assistance

A child’s education and future are easily one of the most, if not the most, important investments a family can make. Understanding tuition and tuition assistance at independent schools is vital as families decide what schools their children should attend. In the latest Irish Insights blog post, Father Ryan President Paul Davis ’81 details what tuition does (and does not) cover, explains how tuition assistance

collaborated with Campus Ministry to create our first All-School Spanish Mass. Father Rodolfo Rivera, pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, joined Father Phan in celebrating the Mass, incorporating both English and Spanish during the celebration.

In addition to our Music Ministry Team, current students Cristal ’25, Olivia ’27, and Temo ’28 Carrillo showcased their talents by performing multiple songs in Spanish for all attendees. After Mass, students were greeted by performances of Latin dancing and drumming by the Global Education Center in the courtyard during lunch, where they could listen to the music and join in on the dancing!

We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making this special event possible and appreciate the opportunity to share and celebrate different cultures on our campus.

Father Ryan Students Earn College Credit

This fall, 42 students are enrolled in college-level courses for college credit at Father Ryan. Taught by our master teachers, the new Dual Enrollment Program provides college rigor on our campus. We have partnered with Trevecca Nazarene University to offer seven courses, including Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Speech, Physics, Spanish, and more.

The program is open to upperclassmen who fulfill the prerequisites defined by course. Tuition and fees are funded by the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship Dual Enrollment grant.

Dr. Lindsay Wentworth, English teacher, teaching COM 1010: Speech Communication

“Our students are learning college-level course objectives and taking increased responsibility for their academic success, knowing their teachers are still among their biggest fans. They explore content using critical thinking and analysis, which sets them up for success in college and beyond the classroom.”
