Executing your fundraiser Executing your fundraiser

For this fundraiser, all you really need is a table and a few posters Set up your table at a park, or near a farmers market for the most foot traffic. Get creative! Make crafts, bake pet treats, or ask your charity for merchandise you can sell. If you choose to set up near a farmers market, check with their vendor permitting guidelines to ensure you can set up near it. This fundraiser is super fun, and you can raise a lot!

Online Campaign

Try setting up an online campaign for a quick and easy fundraiser. This can be on any platform such as GoFundMe or Instagram. You'll need a few highquality photos from your organization of choice, so make sure to email them for the best photos to use. Next, create a short write-up that includes details about the organization, its mission, and why you are fundraising for them. Share your fundraiser with friends and family, to spread the word and encourage people to donate.

Auction

This fundraiser requires the most planning but can work well when done correctly. When setting up an auction, begin by contacting local businesses, like restaurants and shops that might be willing to donate a few goods or gift certificates to your cause. Once you have a few different items to auction, select a day and time when your auction will take place. When finding a location, try to pick an area with heavy foot traffic to attract more people. Another option is to give away items or gift certificates for a suggested donation. For example, for a donation of $100 or more, you will receive a gift certificate for a spa day. As daunting as it sounds, an auction is a wonderful way to fundraise.

Can You Be Vegan and a Professional Athlete?

Professional athletes are increasingly switching to a vegan diet to improve their athletic performance. While the common stereotype is that you have to eat meat to be strong, here are some successful vegan professional athletes that have proven the power of a plant based diet!

Chris Paul: Professional Basketball Player for the Phoenix Suns. Chris became vegan in 2019, looking for a way to improve his athletic performance. Since he became plant-based, he has been more efficient on the court, has fewer body aches, and has less inflammation. Chris Paul has also created a line of plant-based snacks called Good Eat'n.

Erika Tymrak: Professional Soccer Player for the Orlando Pride. Erika became vegan in 2016 and noticed her recovery and performance improved greatly. She also said that once she stopped eating animals, she felt more at peace and less guilty. After becoming vegan, she learned about the positive impact veganism has on the environment which reinforced her decision even more! In an interview with Healthy Magazine, she said, “I think athletes have a great platform to show people that you can not only survive on a vegan diet, but you can thrive.”

Derek Morgan: Professional Football Player for the Tennessee Titans. Derek became vegan with his wife in 2017 to control his weight and improve his energy and mental clarity.
