WHERE WE PLAY Parks Dedicated on Sept. 21, 2013, the Wanamingo Veterans Memorial is a must-see monument honoring the veterans of Goodhue County. Wanamingo boasts one of the nicest ballparks around at Veterans Memorial Athletic Field. The park hosts not only the K-W softball and baseball teams, but the local Minnesota State Amateur Baseball League team, the Wanamingo Jacks and the American Legion Baseball Team. Other parks of interest include Riverside Park with its screened shelter, volleyball and horseshoe courts. The Wanamingo Nature Trail bridges over the Zumbro River and offers miles of wooded hiking year round. Bike riders should check out the Prairie Ridge Bike Path. Pool A public pool is available for all ages and features a water polo hoop, slide, diving boards and lifeguards to watch over young swimmers. Seasonal passes, swimming lessons and water aerobics are available. Winter Activities Try a local snowmobile trail or go skating on the outdoor ice rink.
