01 Upon completion 2018, Westfield Carousel became the largest shopping centre in WA. A $350 million redevelopment, completed in 2018, delivered a new David Jones department store as well as 70 new specialty stores, including 20 restaurants and 50 fashion retailers. Westfield Carousel now comprises 350 retailers across fashion, food, lifestyle, dining and entertainment.

The open-air rooftop dining and entertainment precinct features a fully refurbished HOYTS, including a 14-screen complex and an upgraded LUX Lounge featuring a menu designed by celebrity chef, Manu Feildel. A new iPlay, a dedicated kid’s play area and outdoor amphitheatre on the rooftop provides casual entertainment for customers, day and night.

03 This Activity Centre Plan (ACP) relates to the Eaton Fair Centre (EFC), a district centre in the Greater Bunbury region located approximately 7km northeast of the Bunbury city centre.

The ACP provides for the extension of the Eaton Fair Shopping Centre to the north and east of the existing Shopping Centre, to facilitate the expansion of commercial activities.

This EFC supersedes the Eaton Town Centre Structure Plan, and includes amendments to the Shire of Dardanup Town Planning Scheme No.3 to implement the Plan.

E MMA’ s 2 I N 1 H O U SE B L UE MOUNTAIN Analyzing on terrain and block site We follow the terrain to design 2 main floor levels and one Middle level which create gaps for air circulation by different roof level.

Design provide a good air flow to provide not only fresh air, but also release hot air in summer when it need by using louvres on top and receive winds from rear / lower level.

Cold air is from bottom and hot air will be release to top will make air flow through the whole house.

Orientation study: Room location will be based on its functions and uses schedule daily to get the best comfortable such as receive best sunlight and enough fresh air for their activities in each room.

Wet areas can absorb more sunlight and more heat, good ventilation. Where bedroom need enough morning sun, and should avoid strong sun midday or afternoon (summer).

Living room need more light , no need to be direct sunlight but still need enough sunlight for health and saving energy.

GOOD SUNLIGHT & NATURAL VENTILATION

In summer, sun shading is designed to minimized heat and using control louvres and windows system to maximize the ventilation.

In winter, all rooms will maximum sunlight for the heat and avoid cold by control louvres and windows systems.

so the heating and cooling systems must be high quality.

Windy diagrams are showing clearly direction and strengh of wind in summer from South and East-north. Which East-north side is facing to a bay which can be received almost wind from the ocean as purpose to heat loss for building by natural ventilation. And that is because wind from East-North side in Winter is very low and weak.

Rammed Earth Rammed- Earth architectural techniques was dating to 5000 BC in China, by 2000 BC were commonly used for walls and foundations in China and some Asia Countries.

Environmental effects and sustainability Rammed earth edifices are more sustainable and environmentally friendly than nowadays popular construction materials. Cause of using locally available materials, they generate little waste and get low embodied energy. Rammed earth has low manufacturing impact, it can be mixed on the amount of cement and the amount that is locally sourced to offer a strong quarried aggregates rather than clay.

With 350mm thick rammed earth wall can take 12 hours for heat to transfer through the wall. Which a correct designed solar passive homes, rammed earth offer a comfortable and best home environment. It further reduces the flow of heat, this works to keep heat inside a building in winter but also to reduce heat flow into a building in summer.

In addition, Rammed earth construction has a low greenhouse gas emission in term of theory, transportation and production of cement. Equipment’s and materials for rammed earth construction is reusable and recycle.

DAB Bridge

Concept design: The Bridge connect DAB to Main UTS building accross over Harris Street Create a new facade of the Bridge to give a high Tech design to DAB builing on top of the street.

Using Mel Script to create cut off and merge shade then generate wire frame structure. It gives a bit of chao high tech in design but it bring a human curiosity
