Yes, there are the latest and greatest, the new and improved, the exotic and the quirky. But sometimes, the tried and true venue for a kid’s party is the
way to go. There’s nothing funnier than watching little kids tossing a gigantic round ball down a shiny, wood path to pin destruction. Yes, bowling! Another staple of birthday parties. Dunedin Lanes offers great Birthday Party Packages. They are located at 405 Patricia Avenue. For more information call (727) 736-1282.
Celebrate your little one’s birthday at Little Explorers indoor play club. They host semi-private parties all day Saturdays and completely private parties on week nights and Sundays after 1pm. (Ask about their weekday specials!) They also have a creative team on board who can help bring your vision to life from start to finish!
Believe it or not, play is an important way to nurture optimal early childhood brain development. Children who play, grow into adults who are better able to adapt and navigate through complex environments. The playful learning classes at Little Explorers
help little explorers build their experiences, expressions, and emotional management as well as the ability to establish positive and rewarding relationships. In turn, this fosters their social-emotional development all while they are having a memorable fun time!
Little Explorers is located at 35225 US Hwy 19 N in Palm Harbor. For more information you can call (727) 286-6896 or visit www. littleexplorerspalmharbor.com.

SENIORMUSINGS KIDS PARTY TIP
I liked Halloween when I was a kid. What kid doesn’t? I would get to dress up in a scary costume and stay out late trick-or-treating for candy in my neighborhood. I would then go home, assess my bounty and spend the rest of the night getting a major sugar rush.
Later on as a teenager and young adult I would get to go to Halloween parties where all the girls were dressed in sexy vampire or black cat outfits, and I would load up on candy and spend the night getting a major sugar rush.
When I was married and the kids were little, I would help them pick out a costume (and one for me as well) take them trick-or-treating around the neighborhood and then heist their bounty and spend the night getting a major sugar rush.
But things have changed. Now I have to BUY the candy. And all those kids knocking at my door looking for free handouts have me feeling like dressing up like Ebineezer Scrooge and spouting off about prisons and work houses... and it’s after nine, so stop knocking on my door, and by the way, a sweatshirt and a pillow case does not qualify as a costume, so no candy for you!
So, after turning off the porch light, and sending away the under costumed... I get to assess the bounty I hoarded and spend the night getting a major sugar rush.... and a toothache in the morning. Happy Halloween and bah humbug!
‘til next month, then, The Senior Muser
Allow the kids to decorate their own cupcake. Have some sprinkles, smarties, small marshmallows, little toys on a tray. Then ask the kids to decorate their cake.

ACES HIGH!
Hi! My name is Ace and I’m a Diamond Dog. Please ask about the special perks that come with my adoption. I LOVE: belly rubs and ear scratches more than toys and treats. I KNOW: I’m a good walker and I will sit politely for a treat. The
volunteers say I am well behaved and easy to handle. IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE: to join you on a walk or for cuddles on the couch, I’m the one for you.
SOMETHING ABOUT MY PAST: I have lived with dogs but I chase cats. My previous family trusted me to be alone in the house so I had free roam. I like the pool but not thunder. I’m actually a great cuddle buddy.
Come to the SPCA Tampa Bay today at 9099 130th Ave. N., Largo. You
can also visit Ace and his friends online at SPCATampaBay.org.

HANDSOME HOGAN!
Meet Hogan. This 8-month-old Shepherd/hound mix is as sweet as can be. He loves laying around by his humans and is well mannered knowing how to sit and lay down for treats (which he is very motivated for). Hogan is potty trained, crate trained, good with other dogs, cats and kiddos.
Hogan would probably do best in a home that has a fenced in yard because he loves exploring and trotting around. He is very attentive and alert when going for walks.
Ace is waiting for you at the SPCA Tampa Bay.
Hogan is waiting for you at the Suncoast Animal League.
Good on leash but as mentioned, would probably prefer a yard to call his own. He can be a little shy with strangers but quickly warms up. If you’re looking for a calm chill pup, then Hogan is your guy.
