DEAR FANS, Welcome to the 2018 Volvo Car Open, this is a celebration of our 46th year as a women’s professional tennis event, and marks our 18th year on Daniel Island in beautiful Charleston, SC. In 2017, we embarked on a long-term partnership with the Tennis Channel to broadcast all singles matches on stadium court and create a fun and entertaining experience on-site with their talent and our WTA players. This partnership has become a huge success, more than doubling our domestic audience. We’re looking forward to an even bigger and better experience in 2018! Make sure you stop by the Tennis Channel desk and say hello to Lindsay Davenport, Tracy Austin, Mary Carillo and our newest analyst Chanda Rubin.

We are also very proud of our title sponsor, Volvo Car USA. Not only are they our title sponsor but they are very near completion of their first North American production facility, which will bring thousands of new jobs and more than one billion dollars of investment to the greater Charleston area and the state of South Carolina. Growing the game of tennis is an important responsibility of the Volvo Car Open team. We are extremely fortunate to have a partner in SunTrust Bank who underwrites the cost of all tickets for children under the age of 16 so they can enjoy the experience of a world-class tennis event. In addition, we have partnered with the USTA and their new Net Generation program so while on site those children can learn about the game and participate in one of the many tennis activities offered all week long.

Giving back is something we, along with all our partners, are very proud of.

From raising money and awareness for our official charity, MUSC Children’s Hospital, to our partnership with Prudential Financial and their military outreach to help active personnel make a smooth transition to civilian life, the entire week is driven to give back using this wonderful game we all love.

Kids of all skill levels are welcome to work on their strokes. Mini-nets and junior rackets will be available for participants as we say hello to the next generation of great tennis players.

STRIVE WELLNESS CENTER Visit the Strive Wellness Center and check out the best health tips WTA players have to offer! While you’re there, be sure to leave your own health tip!

Plus there will be daily activities including stretching classes, spin classes and free samples!

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION & REMINDERS

FOOD & BEVERAGES

No food, beverages, coolers or glass containers may be brought onto tournament grounds, with the exception of one sealed bottle of water per person.

The Volvo Car Open has a variety of choices for your dining pleasure to satisfy your food and beverage needs. 

NO SMOKING POLICY

The Volvo Car Open is a non-smoking facility.

Smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted anywhere on the tournament grounds. 

MATCH SCHEDULE

All start times and match schedules are subject to change. Check VolvoCarOpen.com for updates. 

CAMERAS

No flash photography is allowed. Cameras are prohibited for any purpose other than using photographs for personal and private domestic use.

Such photographs cannot be exploited or displayed in any manner or in any medium whatsoever without the express written consent of the WTA. 

LOST & FOUND

Any lost items can be found at the Guest Services Tent located near the main gate. 

TICKET POLICIES

Please be prepared to present your ticket to our usher staff at all times. There will be a checkpoint at the site entrance, Stadium Court and Club Court. Patrons wanting to leave and re-enter the tournament grounds will need to obtain a hand stamp upon exiting. You will need both a hand stamp and the ticket stub to re-enter. Keep your tickets! No ticket or credential holder may continually collect, disseminate, transmit, publish or release from the grounds of the tournament any match scores or related statistical data during match play (from the commencement of a match through its conclusion for any commercial, betting or gambling purpose). 

REFUNDS/EXCHANGES

There are no refunds or exchanges. All sales are final.



UMBRELLAS

While umbrellas are allowed on-site, please be advised that you may be asked to discontinue use if they obstruct sight lines of those around you. 

RAIN POLICY

A session will be considered complete if one match in that session is completed. In the event of rain or high winds that result in the cancellation of scheduled matches during a session, we will attempt to accommodate the ticket holder with a General Admission ticket for a subsequent session, based on availability. There will be NO REFUNDS issued. You must retain your original ticket stub in the case of a postponement in order to re-enter the rescheduled session. Information on scheduling changes can be obtained by calling the tournament hotline, (843) 849-5000, or visiting our website's homepage. 

PARKING

Parking is available in several locations on Daniel Island. Free shuttle service to the main entrance will be provided to those parking only in the satellite lots. 

BAG POLICY

For the comfort and safety of all patrons, bags and backpacks will be screened upon entry. Once checked, bags and backpacks will receive a tag that shows they’ve been screened. Anyone leaving and wanting to re-enter will have their tag removed.

Upon re-entry, bag will again be screened and tagged. Clear bags will be visually scanned and permitted without needing a bag tag. The following items are prohibited from entering the grounds: glass bottles or containers; alcoholic beverages; weapons; illegal substances; bikes, skateboards, scooters, self-balancing scooters or roller blades; pets, with the exception of service animals.

Prohibited items that are discovered during inspections must either be returned to their owner’s vehicle/transportation or discarded. The Volvo Car Open will not provide a storage area for these items.

Guests arriving by public transportation must take particular caution not to bring any prohibited items as no exceptions will be made.
