WELCOME TO NEW FACULTY

The Pediatric Neurosurgery Department is proud to welcome Derek Samples to our Colorado Springs and Denver locations. He is a graduate of Trinity University and completed medical school and residency at University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonia and UT Southwestern Medical School. He completed his fellowship at CUAnschutz in pediatric neurosurgery and was quickly “scooped up” by this team. His research interests and some of his many publications include work in Isolated Cervical Spinous Process Fractures, Serum Tau Levels as a Biomarker for Traumatic Brain Injury and the Utilization of Human Neurons for Pre-clinical Testing of Novel Stroke Therapies.

Welcome To Incoming Faculty

The Pediatric Neurosurgery Department is also excited to welcome two new Advanced Practice Providers (APP’s) the spring. Mitchell Tiedke is coming to us from Colorado Brain and Spine and Jennifer Coffman is coming from another department at Children’s Hospital.
