Jim and Amy will be joined by two guests who know the resort inside out. Together, they’ll explore:

Rich’s parents met in Austria in 1966 and he made his own first turns on a family trip to Wangs, a tiny Swiss resort that even Welove2ski.com hasn’t yet visited. The bug firmly caught on those family trips, Rich has spent seasons between ‘real jobs’ working as a ski instructor, chalet host and ski host. He now lives in Sussex and plans as much skiing as he can. Rich loves a road trip and really, really wants to ski in Japan. Mainly because powder days are his favourites – whether under blue skies or in a blizzard!

Nicola first took to the snow aged four. An all-in-one from C&A and lessons from her (also novice) parents set her on a path that would dominate her life, seeing her race internationally as a teenager, teach in Switzerland, ski in destinations from Russia to Revelstoke and ultimately move to the Portes du Soleil, where she lives with her equally ski-mad husband and their two sons. Unofficial motto: “The steeper, the better”. Signature move: spread eagle.

Growing up, no one in Jim's family liked the cold, skiing or the mountains. They were more of a surf-and-beach fam. But Jim had other ideas. He begged and saved to go on the school ski trip, with no idea if he’d even enjoy it. Spoiler alert: he did. As soon as he was old enough, he left home for the Alps and racked up many seasons in some of Europe’s most legendary resorts. After a few years working in the UK ski scene, taking countless ski trips and sharpening his digital skills, he convinced his own family to move to the Alps. Now? He clocks up an embarrassing amount of mountain time.

Al grew up in the expansive countryside of Northumberland, which engendered a deep passion for the outdoors. He learnt to ski in Norway, on school trips, then got into climbing and mountaineering across the north of Britain and the Alps. His love for mountains, their rocky visage and of skiing drives him to go touring into wild spaces. He'll take every opportunity he can to slip on a powerful boot and carve his way down groomed terrain (yup, the boy loves skiing). He's worked in ski retail, ran service centres in the Alps and London, and has been testing ski equipment to help consumers for 20 years. His goal; to help skiers have an even better time in the mountains.
