It's Time to Expand Your Electroless Nickel Plating Options
The deposit of nickel-alloy coatings through chemical reduction is known as "nickel autocatalytic coatings." It can happen even without an electric current. With higher phosphorous, the corrosion resistance can be increased. But if you compromise on phosphorous content, it results in a decrease in hardness.
ENP is formed when nickel ions are reduced to metallic nickel using sodium hypophosphite, a chemical reducing agent. They have a common thickness of around 25-75m. However, the high phosphorous ENP edges above 75 m, which pushes its limits.

The surfaces should be free from specks of dirt, oils, and soaps formed by the saponification of oils.
Nickel ion concentration, pH, temperature, and hypophosphite concentration has to be managed to get the premium plating finish.
