LIFE AWAITS

Hey Fairfax,
What an exciting year it’s been. Looking back, it’s clear that we could not have done any of it without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the unity and willingness of each and every one of you to step into what God has called us to as a Christ followers and be faithful to the mission God has placed on this church.
If we long to experience forgiveness and grace, to see peace and justice in the world, to see renewal in our community, to see marriages strengthened, to see families restored, it all begins with lives that have been raised to life in Christ.
The message of the resurrection is that no matter where you are in your spiritual journey and no matter what you are going through, in Christ, life awaits!
Whether you’ve been part of the Fairfax family for years or for weeks, I want to thank you for being part of the story that God is writing.
See you at the party!
Rod Stafford Senior Pastor

WELCOME & INTRODUCTION

MISSION AND VISION

We are a community following Jesus. Our mission is to love our neighbors and see them raised to life in Christ.
WE BELIEVE THAT WHETHER YOU’VE BEEN FOLLOWING JESUS FOR YOUR WHOLE LIFE OR YOU’RE AT CHURCH FOR THE FIRST TIME — LIFE AWAITS!
We believe that changing the world for the Kingdom of God happens one day, one person at a time. We live out our mission by strategically gathering the people, telling the stories, and changing the world. Our goal is to equip and send out followers of Jesus to change the world with the good news of the Gospel in every channel of culture. You’re invited to join us on this journey! LI-3

CORE VALUES

PRAY
OUR FIVE CORE VALUES - PRAY, GIVE, INVITE, MENTOR, AND SERVE - AREN’T JUST PRINCIPLES WE BELIEVE IN; THEY’RE THE WAYS WE ACTIVELY LIVE OUT OUR FAITH IN OUR CHURCH AND IN THE BROADER COMMUNITY.
Prayer is our first response: we believe that God hears and answers the prayers of His people. Prayer is one of the main ways we engage in a personal relationship with God. It acknowledges our total and complete dependence on God and empowers us to live the transformed, gospel-centered life that God has called us to live.
We believe that authentic generosity is a direct byproduct of a heart transformed by the love of God. Through our giving, we join God’s mission to redeem and restore the world. In our giving, we also are able to reflect God’s generous, sacrificial love to others. Finally, we give as members of the body of Christ to support the efforts of the local church.
INVITE
We believe that God has called the church to transform their community with the message of God’s love made manifest in His Son and the good news of the Gospel. We invest in relationships both inside and outside of the church in faith that one day our neighbors will be raised to life in Christ and that all would experience the freedom that’s available to them in Christ.
04
MENTOR
We believe that God uses the people in our lives to help us grow, learn, and serve. We are committed to both building up the next generation and learning from those who have come before us. We are a multigenerational community that engages in gospel-centered, multicultural relationships.
05 SERVE
We believe that the most radical witness a Christ follower can give is by serving others as God served us. Our impact is greatest when we serve using our God-given gifts and passions as part of the greater body of Christ.

CREATIVE ARTS

Night of Worship + Live Recording
In August, we celebrated the live recording of our first two Fairfax Worship original songs, written for our church by our songwriting ministry.
“The most rewarding part about launching this ministry has been using these songs in our worship sets. We’ve written songs that have either come directly from sermons preached or how we sense God is moving here in our church. Every time we sing our songs, it leads us all to want more of what God has for this ministry and for this church.”
— Gabrielle Pisani, Artist-in-Residence

You Are Part of the Story

Our You Are Part of the Story campaign was inspired by our Church History sermon series. We spent four Sundays capturing hundreds of photos of our congregation displayed them together in the lobby. This visualization of our entire church family beautifully expressed how each of us really is part of God’s story!

CARE

Care is what sets the church apart. It’s what we do to show the love of Christ in tangible ways.
Care is about coming alongside each other in times of need and offering support, encouragement, and practical help so we can experience healing and the fullness of life that is offered in Christ. We’re committed to caring for those in the blue seats, our community, and the world. We do this because it's what Jesus taught us to do and the fulfillment of the greatest commandment.
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
