To commemorate the 75th anniversary, the Iwo Jima Association of America has partnered with renowned military publisher Faircount Media Group in the production of a special anniversary publication titled:
Uncommon Valor: The 75th Anniversary of the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Commencing with an impressive series of introductions and forewords from current and former Marine Corps and Department of Defense leaders, this full-color glossy publication will focus on the chronology of circumstances that surrounded this historic American victory, beginning with Pearl Harbor, President Roosevelt’s subsequent appointment of Adm. Chester Nimitz as Commander-in-Chief, Pacific Fleet, and the chain of events that eventually led to Japan’s surrender and the end of World War II. The publication will also tell the story of the wonderful work of the Iwo Jima Association of America and its dedication to preserving the history of the Battle of Iwo Jima for future generations.
