We are pleased to introduce the Amanda Marshall Planned Giving Circle, a planned giving program, also known as a legacy giving program, which involves leaving a charitable gift as part of an individual's financial or estate planning.

About Amanda Marshall

Amanda Marshall is the proud founder of Fair Chance and the co-founder of Families4Families, a national effort that is creating the next generation of changemakers by harnessing the power of young leaders to address food insecurity and basic needs nationwide. Amanda attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated from the Honors Program with a BA in Economics in 1997.

Amanda began her professional career as a health care consultant at Ernst & Young in New York City, but soon returned to her passion of helping others. After working at the Women's Prison Association (NY), Jumpstart (NY), the Robin Hood Foundation (NY) and K-World (Sweden & UK), Amanda moved to Washington, DC in 2002 to launch Fair Chance. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Fair Chance.

In addition, Amanda and her family founded Families4Families in 2020 and Amanda serves as the Chair of the F4F Board of Directors. Because of her commitment to children and families in Washington D.C., Amanda received Washington Life Magazine's 2005 Women of Substance and Style Award; Greensboro Day School (Greensboro, NC) Distinguished Alumni Award in 2005; 2012 University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Distinguished Young Alumni Award; Washingtonian Magazine’s 2018 Washingtonians of the Year; and 2023 Potomac School Award for Exemplary Service Amanda proudly serves on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Shuford Program in Entrepreneurship Advisory Board; the DC United Foundation Board; FAN-DC Advisory Board; Fair Chance Board of Directors; and Families4Families Board of Directors

Amanda lives in Washington DC with her husband, Alex, and their four boys

FINANCIAL BENEFITS TO YOU

Some planned gifts that return income to donors include: Charitable gift annuities, which provide income returns for life in the form of fixed payments to the beneficiary. Charitable annuity trusts, which pay beneficiaries either a fixed percentage of trust income or a fixed dollar amount.

Other ways to fulfill bequest intentions: Contributions of appreciated property such as securities or real estate and life income gifts receive tax deductions. Or you could make a specific bequest: A fixed dollar amount or for assets or a residuary bequest which directs all or a percentage of your estate.

THE VALERIE COLEMAN NONPROFIT FELLOWSHIP FUND

This fund was established in June of 2024 in honor of Valerie Coleman to fund a nonprofit partnership program’s that result in significant growth for the nonprofit in terms of potentially new services offered, more people served and increased revenue.
