Faircape Health is a leading private healthcare provider in the Western Cape with over 300 medical beds and 1000 retirees. We provide compassionate, individualised care centred on each person’s unique needs. Our Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) of Doctors, Registered Nurses, Trained Carers, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Dietician, Social Worker, and Psychologist provide restorative care in therapeutic environments across 6 prime locations to maximise healing outcomes, and support lasting independence.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM (MDT) Faircape Health care facilities account for all aspects of patient health to provide individualised care catered to specific needs. Our MDT includes all of the following primary and allied healthcare professionals.

Medical Practitioners

An aligned medical practice of four doctors primarily administer care at the Faircape Health Tokai subacute facility where we have achieved a 98% 5-star rating. Using a collaborative approach, our aligned medical practice offers clinical input and assists additional doctors who’ve signed SLAs at each of our village long term healthcare centres.

Registered Nursing Team

Our team of registered nurses provide round-the-clock care and support at each of our healthcare facilities. They ensure that every need is attended to with dignity and compassion.

Trained Carers

Trained carers assist with various activities of daily living from hygiene, eating, dressing and taking medicines. They help to promote and extend independence.

Physiotherapists

Each of our healthcare facilities has an aligned Physiotherapist to maintain and promote circulatory health, range of motion, physical strength and more on a referral basis as needed.

Occupational Therapists

Overseen by our group occupational therapist, each village has a dedicated occupational therapist who promotes independence with dignity and compassion with activity-based methodology.

Speech & Language Therapist

Our aligned speech and language therapist helps residents acquire or reacquire the ability to communicate and swallow to the best of their ability on a referral basis as needed.

Dietician

Our aligned Dietitian makes sure that the Residents are served nutritious meals and that special dietary requirements are catered for. Residents who require individual assessment and consultation are referred on an as needed basis.

Social Worker

Overseen by our group social worker, we employ the services of 2 additional social workers who support residents and their family where necessary.

Psychologist

Our aligned psychologist provides therapy using a variety of methodologies to alleviate mood and cognition related symptoms, as well as adapt to changes and strengthen resilience on a referral basis as needed.

KITCHEN SERVICES Optimum nutrition and deliciously prepared meals are vital for health. Our in-house catering service works in partnership with our staff dietitian to develop nutritionally balanced meals. Included in the daily service fee: • • • •

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS Faircape Health caters for a wide variety of dietary choices and requirements. The following dietary restrictions can be accommodated: Normal, Light, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Diabetic, Soft, Soft-Diabetic, Purée, Kosher*, and Halaal*. *These meals are outsourced and prepared off-site. Surcharges may apply.

ALLERGEN NOTICE Allergens such as milk, eggs, soya, wheat, gluten, peanuts, shellfish, fish, and tree nuts are used in the kitchen. Strict allergen control measures are in place to prevent allergen cross-contamination.

HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES At Faircape Health, we pride ourselves in maintaining the highest level of hygiene and cleanliness. Our professional housekeepers are trained to ensure a sanitary environment and to carry out their duties with the highest levels of courtesy and discretion. Our primary turn down services include: • • • •

Dusting surfaces, fixtures and blinds Sweeping, mopping and vacuum cleaning Changing and laundering linens Kitchenette cleaning, surfaces, sink, exteriors of appliances

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS COVID-19 control and the management of risk is a priority for us. In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the Faircape Group has put additional measures in place to safeguard patients & residents at all 6 facilities. We have implemented strict COVID-19 control policies and procedures.

LONG TERM ADMISSIONS The long term care provided at Faircape Health is ideal for persons with Dementia, and those requiring Frail Care. You can rest assured that all needs will be tended to in a dignified manner. To begin the admission process email healthcare@faircape.co.za and we will be in touch within 2 business days with regards to availability.

FURNITURE & PERSONAL ITEMS To provide the most comfortable and pleasant living environment, Faircape Health provides ergonomically selected furnishings and fittings. These include an electronic bed, bedside cabinet, wingback chair, and wall heater. Residents may also bring their own furniture and belongings to personalise their living quarters. A personalised living space helps to make resident’s stay comfortable and makes adjustment as stress-free as possible. Please Note: In the interests of resident safety and wellbeing, resident furniture must be assessed by the Nursing Services Manager, and are routinely checked by our Maintenance Staff.
