The largest selection of traditional and exotic jerkies in the Finger Lakes.
Try our Finger Lakes line of top-round jerky in 13 fantastic flavors, spanning the spectrum from sweet and teriyaki to habanero and ghost, scorpion, and reaper pepper. By the piece or by the bag you are certain to find something you’ll love!
It is wild to think about, but without glaciers, the Finger Lakes region would look a lot more like the rugged hills of West Virginia or north central Pennsylvania. Steep, remote, and much less populated.
In a 1963 study, geologist Donald R. Coates explained that glaciers did more than carve out the lakes. They completely reshaped the land. Their movement flattened ancient hills and turned narrow V shaped valleys into wide U-shaped valleys. They also left behind sand, gravel, and rich soil that now support our towns, farms, and vineyards.
Without glaciation, there would be fewer flat areas to build on, less access to groundwater, and very little farming. There would be no wine industry, no Finger Lakes, and no tourism.
In other words, most of us would probably be living or vacationing somewhere else.
So, the next time you sip a glass of local wine or enjoy a view by the lake, remember who made it possible. The glaciers.

In 2023, The Windmill unveiled Record Place, a newly rebuilt section of shops offering climate controlled, handicap accessible spaces. Designed as a small town streetscape, the project replaced the aging Northwest Street of Shops and was completed with help from local contractors. Named in honor of longtime merchant Mary Record, the updated area now offers a more comfortable and inviting experience for visitors and vendors alike.
