The white walls in the ARTlab's gallery acts as a white canvas to let the visitor's vision fixate on the artwork. Therefore, they can get the sense of taste that the artist is trying to imply.
As the social heart of the building, the atrium is design with a clean linearity that expresses certainty and calmness. The triple volume space also creates a great acoustic environment that makes the place alive.

ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES
The outdoor gather space plays with manipulating depth and perspective. The oblique lines generate more than one vanishing points through the different elements; V column, ceiling, floor tiles. It gives the impression of excitement to the users.
As an "art lab", Patkau Architect actively allows user to engage the architecture through their senses, conscious and unconsciously at the same time.
WHILE WALKING IN, A SENSE OF CONTRACTION WILL DESCEND FROM THE CEILING BEFORE RELAXING IT TO THE ROOF. THE UNEXPECTED EXPANSION OF SPACE AND LIGHT ENCOURAGE USER TO ACTIVELY EXPLORE UPWARDS.
