WOMEN’S LIVELIHOOD AND OPPORTUNITY CENTRE

The project's goal is to establish a hybrid community space and livelihood center for the women of Appasandra. This space aims to empower women by providing them with opportunities to discover and develop their hidden talents. Additionally, an Anganwadi is available to support women with children, enabling them to e ectively balance their work and personal lives.

INSTITUTIONAL DESIGN - HOSPITAL
Location: Vittassandra, Bengaluru
Academic Year: 2021-22
The project involves the construction of a 150-bed multi-specialty hospital in Vittassandra, utilizing an abandoned and neglected quarry landscape. The primary objective is to revitalize the quarry and transform it into a fully operational healthcare facility.
The design utilizes a stacked block approach to create multiple horizontal surfaces, which are adorned with extensive rooftop gardens that provide green space. The interlocking blocks form a vertical structure that allows light and air to penetrate the entire building. By employing various landscaping techniques on the quarry site, the structure creates a strong visual connection with the quarry and within the blocks themselves.
