BOOK ALBERT ÁVILA

STATEMENT The discursive treatment in the work of Albert Avila raises a revaluation of the methods of artistic production, through means such as sculpture, painting, photography, video and installation, on the basis of the social imaginary collective as narrative strategy.

ALBERT ÁVILA

Sometimes classified as Neo-pop and minimalist, this tags don’t matter. His work initially involves conceptual photography and painting focused on feelings. To date, Albert Ávila Camacho have worked in sculpture, audio visual and mix media. They are also common in some of his works, nudity, surf, sea, excesses and other objects that the middle class aspire to live and be. Ideas is the main feature that must crown the work. His objects cause a kind of joke, love, sadness, sensuality, mystery, which is aimed directly at the senses.

The cement is leaned in sacks on palm trees, some tools playing lost treasure in the sand. The team of assistants of F3 drew a diameter, average distance between a palm tree and another, calculated the amount of material required, drew pictures again and again, the shape of the piece, the gallery owners wondering how is it that will make a meteor in the jungle? SURGICAL METEORITE

VG´S For Albert, the figurative link between the female genitalia and the organic forms of surfaces it’s an added source of fascination. Today, it appears that the creation of images of the vagina is only done by pornographers, erotic and feminist artists. The vision of the vagina as a unit and independent body part is not an open issue that generates dialog, you can even be described as a pervert and lead in some cultures to the mutilation. The vulvas and the lips are as different as the faces, but most, especially women, do not seem to acknowledge, and that is being promoted as an incomplete equality and dismisses its diversity. Avila Camacho proposes to look at women much closer and with less accuracy, and is to see the whimsical shapes that form clouds, is to see the lunar surface with the game of shadows that suggest figures. For this reason the series VGA is a mutation of a vagina that collectively seem to be equal.

INTERSTICE The global reach of the insertion of the valuation of gender in sexual terms has no room left to make reference to the intersexuality. Gender has been used in the societies to define community functions ranging from the selection of clothing to benefits in civil rights. XXY explores the biological, social and religious interstice, that contrasts with the perception of the intersexual in the western society that forces to enter to a subculture of minorities that are blurred between labels L, G, B, T, T, T, I, and A. In XXY, Ă vila Camacho configures a biological alteration on scenarios defined by the gender of what is subject to be stamped is distorted. XXY provides a close view of what is estimated as intersex, a wrong approach that promotes openness to discern between a social doctrine and a congenital event.

MOBILE How can you know the outcome of a creative process, how can you tell when it begins or ends? Starting from the basis of a simple line, living in a bidimensional space, many experiments were conducted to translate the line into a tridimensional space. Now there will be no point A or B, nor end or beginning, it would be a continuous shape. We took three stripes of steel and made three ellipses, then combined the shapes and finally we hanged them with a steel cable. Once it was suspended we decides to add one more element: light. By placing strips of led lights on the ellipses and playing with the changes of light and its tonalities a new saturated atmosphere was created, now the mobile, that was expected as a final result, only turned out to be one more component in this process, it was no longer an object but a sculptural installation in constant motion.

FRIgiDAS Among carmine color flowers and sheets starched tan that they seemed cut from a cloud dawn was prostrated who would be one of the most representative figures of Mexican culture. Mesoamerican culture recognizes the incarnation of Venus in llife for her eyebrows or for her admirable and colorful paintings; However, what few people know is that her hallmark was the most sensitive parts of her anatomy. A pair of lips which rumour has it his husband didn’t touch, same as for immortality were portrayed in photographs taken at his home in Coyoacan, which together with its pair of breasts and protruding ennobled her beautiful indigenous factions. A woman of the world, modern and cultured; perfect union between roots of ancient cultures and European influences. Kahlo achieved to unify in her art and lifestyle both influences, resulting a unique art, special as the same Frida. This woman managed to be public representation of female corporeality, revealing to the world her privacy and giving the multiple photographer’s lenses. We could say that without the will to do so, being herself her portraits, was an advocate for the women rights; the right of feeling full, to know and enjoy their body, and without feeling the need to maulit. Albert takes the idea of showing all these ideologies into three racks, so raw edges ss the ideals of Frida. Albert, inspired by the naked Frida, proposes to see the vagina as unit and independent body, closer and less accurate, as it is, as Frida showed us.

“Describing the work of an artist is a difficult path to walk, despite all efforts, there always remain a sensation in the air that it`s not enough. One of those elusive characters is Albert Avila Camacho, a man that lives too many lives in one, he conceptualizes his life as adventures, experiments and excess, an artist who travels paths that are so new, original and different, that trying to understand him from our simple commodity, at times becomes an impossible task. We could say that his art is sensitive and acute Nowadays Albert still traveling, wandering and discovering new worlds and by the moment he decided to live on Uluru, situated on a desert in the middle of Australia. ABRAHAM OROZCO F3 ART-LAB
