Dear Participants, First of all, we are absolutely thrilled to welcome you all to Belval 2016!

Ever since we started EYP all the way back in 2014, it has increasingly become a huge part in our lives. We always felt inspired by people who were willing to invest such an incredible amount of time to give others an awesome opportunity to voice their opinions and boost their confidence. We hope that with Belval 2016, we can come close to what Head Organisers before us have been able to achieve for us.

All we can tell you is that as Head Organisers, we have compiled an excellent team of very capable individuals who have worked tirelessly to ensure your wellbeing during the session and will provide you with their best smiles and best hugs and they have our full faith and trust.

Until we all meet at Belval, we hope that you stay safe and perfect and continue prepping for the session.

We hope that you will fully enjoy your time at Belval 2016!

Dear Delegates, You are about to embark on a journey, one that hundreds of thousands of people your age have also gone through in the past three decades, but one that will be unique to you. The European Youth Parliament is an open organisation which will give you the opportunity to learn, discover, and become part of something greater. During your three days with us you will learn how to work in a team, you will discover new cultures, and you'll be able to become an actor of change in your society.

My adventure began almost six years ago, and each step of the way is a unique learning point. I've learned to lead large teams, to develop individuals, and to drink coffee so that I can work a 20 hour day. Your adventure will be different, but it will be yours. Very soon you will be introduced to your topic and its dynamics by your chairperson. My one piece of advice I can give you is to prepare yourself, academically speaking, so that you can fully enjoy your committee work and general assembly experience.

Very soon you will become a part of the EYP family, until then I wish you happy research.

ALL THINGS TRAVEL

By Air Luxembourg has one airport called 'Findel Airport' It is situated around 10km from the Central Station (Gare Centrale). You can find flights to most major European cities with LuxAir or through websites such as SkyScanner.com.

By Train The Gare Centrale is Luxembourg's main train station and is connected to several major European cities. The fastest way to get to the hotel is by train, The station for Belval is 'Belval/UniversitĂŠ'. Do not worry though as there will be some members of the Orga team ready to guide you properly at the station.

FOR NATIONAL TRAVELLERS Even though there are buses available going to Esch-Belval, we recommend that you come by train as it faster and easier to get to the session this way. There will even be members of the Orga Team present at the station to help you if you are not sure how to get there.

ALL THINGS TRAVEL Other ways to get here: If flights to Findel are not available, neighbouring cities with airports such as Frankfurt, Brussels and Cologne have bus services which travel to Luxembourg regularly. We can even help you out if you struggle to find any routes.

All officials are expected to arrive by 12.00pm on Thursday, the 27th October. Accommodation will be provided for Officials who arrive on the 26th October, at a small cost.

All delegates are expected to arrive by 13.00pm on Friday, the 28th October. Accommodation will be provided for international delegates on the evening of the 27th October.

You are free to depart after 18.00 on the 30th October.

However, we invite all participants to attend the farewell evening, and depart the next day instead. Accommodation will be provided for the 8th April at a small fee

ACCOMODATION During the period of the session, we will be staying at the HOTEL IBIS ESCH BELVAL. The address is Avenue du Rock n Roll, 12, 4361 Eschsur-Alzette.

HOW EYP WORKS TEAMBUILDING Any EYP session starts with Teambuilding as it gives participants an opportunity to be comfortable around each other and get to know each other.

DRESS CODE: Casual and comfortable. You will move around a lot so make sure your clothes allow that too.

OPENING CEREMONY The first evening of the session where we officially declare that the session has started. There will be speeches from head-officials of the session and others.

DRESS CODE: Fancy and elegant: Arguably the fanciest evening of any EYP session. We expect formal dresses for the ladies and suits (even tuxedos) for the gentlemen.

COMMITTEE WORK

This is where it starts to get serious as now you and your committee get to write your resolution. Follow your chair's guidance and educate yourself about your topic beforehand.

DRESS CODE: Smart-casual: Work-appropriate, not too formal like in the Opening Ceremony for instance but not too casual like in Teambuilding

HOW EYP WORKS COMMITTEE DINNERS As the session comes to an end, we offer the chance to every delegate to have dinner with their committee members and reflect on the past couple of days here in Belval.

DRESS CODE: You can really wear whatever makes you happy but remember there will be an evening programme later, which will require you to be outside for a while.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY This is it. Your committee and all other committees get to fight for your resolutions. You make speeches, raise important questions and defend your resolution. Don't worry, your chair will give you an in depth explanation of how GA works at the session. .

DRESS CODE: Smart and business-formal: This is where you get to show of your business looks. We expect suits, ties for the guys and formal blazers, skirts, dresses or trousers for the girls.

SESSION VENUES

We are proud to be accommodated by the Hotel IBIS, then continue our journey through this session at the University of Luxembourg's Belval campus where Teambuilding and Committee Work will take place. Our Opening Ceremony will be held at the Esch Commune's Town Hall and we end our academic adventure at the LycĂŠe Belval, where General Assembly will be held.

WHAT TO BRING

Apart from your smiles and an open mind, we want you to remember to bring your consent forms if you are not able to scan them through to us, your passports or ID Cards, a mug/cup and a torchlight. The reason behind the torch will be kept a secret, until your arrival here in Belval.

Once you get this booklet and you are confirmed for this session, book your travel routes and fill out the registration form for which we will provide a link, as soon as possible.
