EDITORIAL VISION VLORA 2019 Harbour of Interchange
Vision for the Media Team of the Session As the session’s motto proclaims, Vlore 2019 will be an event with a unique atmosphere. Harbor of interchange calls upon all the participants to be ready to share what they already know and, more importantly, be open towards what the others have to offer. It doesn’t matter what previous experience you have in the field of media, as long as you are eager to broaden your horizons, I would be glad to see you a part of my team. A special emphasis will be put on a personal approach to every team member. Given the wide range of skills secured by the diversity of participants, everybody will find something to further develop in. Such amount of possibilities might get confusing, however, we will do our best in order to provide the guidance and support needed to achieve your personal goals you have set for the session. To make sure every media team member is comfortable with their skills and ready for the session, a series of pre-session modules will be conducted. Furthermore, supporting the main idea of Vlore 2019, any media team member will be able to deliver a module themselves and teach the others something new. The focal point of any session is the delegates. I would like the media team to do their best to introduce the session’s theme to them. In order to do so, you will be granted the freedom of expression to come up with your own projects you will be in charge of during the event. I will highly encourage you to work collaboratively, brainstorm and discuss each other’s ideas, as I deeply believe that being on the same page and readiness to give a hand when it’s needed is the key to successful teamwork. All the media team members will be attached to committees. Also, you will actively participate in committees’ activities with a view to ensuring more fruitful cooperation and increased level of bounding as between teams. Editorial Assistant will not be assigned to a committee. Their main responsibility will be helping me in team management and supervision of projects being made by the media team members. Summing up all the said above, it doesn’t matter how experienced you are in media or EYP in general. EDITORIAL VISION
Dear potential applicant, Allow me to start by saying how thrilled I am to start this journey. Tirana 2019 - 2nd Regional Selection Conference of EYP Albania is already full of amazing, inspired and talented individuals. I trust EYP Albania so much, in their view on EYP sessions, in the comfy working environment, in the fast and effective approach in solving issues. I look forward to starting this dream... ...but we are missing the most important part of the officials team: our members, the warriors that run the extra mile to impress, that dare to change and to think outside the box. I am now looking for Journalists and Editorial Assistants to embark on this unique journey, filled with companionship, hard work, cooperation, feedback, communication and, most of all, love and happiness.
For Editorial Assistants applicants: I am mainly looking for passion, integrity, creativity and hard skills. Our aim, as Editorial Team, is to pass knowledge and guarantee the quality of the output. Our purpose at the session is to guarantee that our team is working as independently as possible, with our full support, while we also discover new fields we did not know we excelled at and skills that were still to be acknowledged on us. Therefore, I envision a united Editorial Team, including you in the important decisions for the team. Ownership is key, just like constant feedback from and to each other. Your success is my success, our team’s success is our success! Let’s do it! For Journalist applicants: at Tirana 2019, we will not overcomplicate what is simple. Every individual in the team will be provided with the tools and knowledge needed to take the role of a Journalist, to be part of the Media Team as well as to develop themselves within this team. With the full support of the Editorial Team, you will get all relevant skills, through training modules or by personal experience. If you want to try something new, challenge you in new fields, gain some knowledge and also teach others, this is the session to be part of!
Our Media Team will get our support through constructive and continuous feedback, on a flat hierarchical basis. In a welcoming and supportive atmosphere, through much knowledge sharing, my goal is empower each and everyone to feel comfortable to take on new roles in the EYP and to develop their skills, always in an environment full of love and happiness. In order to make Tirana 2019 so legendary, we will innovate. The individuality of each person will always be taken into account and I want to empower each member of the team to employ that individuality as a key to help shaping our output and to impact others. I envision our team as more than the sum of its parts! Above all, I want to take with me unique individuals and create a motivated team that will work as a single unit. This said, while giving you the technical tools, I am undoubtedly looking for creative individuals - and I believe everyone is creative, some have just not been put into test. And I, and the Editorial Team, are here to empower you on this, all we need from you is motivation to grow, develop and have an impact!
Finally: Work hard, play harder! I want our Media Team to break limits. While I aim to focus on output, personal development and all your learning wishes, I also want you to enjoy the session to its fullest, rather than spending all your time busy working. Learning about Media is definitely fundamental, to develop skills even more; however, I do also want everyone to ENJOY the personal and intercultural part of the session, meeting new people, growing internally. Happier people produce better output - you can totally count on me (and surely on the EAs) to spread lots of energy, excitement and support; we need you to be at your fullest! For me, the success of a session is measured by the memories we bring back home... and Tirana 2019 will be lit, so lit!
