Minute Fresh Makeup Look

Its that time again, back to school! Back to late nights of studying and too early classes. With all the stress and worries about alarm clocks and papers, who has the time to get ready in the morning? I’m here to help! Here is a step by step look to a fresh and awake face, on a college girls budget! All the products used and listed can be found in your local drugstore.

Start with freshly washed and moisturized skin.

Set your base with a powder like Revlon’s Photoready pressed powder to help your makeup stay in place. Touch up with this throughout the day to help control oil and shine.

Begin applying Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream, concentrating on the center of your face and blending outward. Apply a small amount of Maybelline Fit Me Concealer under your eyes and blend out with your finger in a dabbing motion.

Fill in any sparse area’s your eyebrows with a brow pencil and brush through for a natural look. The loreal Brow Stylist Sculptor is a great option, it is a double ended pencil with a wax side to help those unruly brows stay in place.

Using NYC Duet Eyeliner Pencil in Unforgettable, apply black liner to top lash line. Continue lining the bottom rim with the light side of the pencil and apply Maybelline Color Tattoo pigment in Barely Brazen to inner corners. This will open the eyes and give the illusion of looking more awake. Finish with your favorite mascara.

7 Swipe on a neutral colored lip gloss. I am using Hard Candy, All Glossed Up in the color Chic.

8 Now your ready to take on that tough professor (or that pushy boss) with confidence and a smile!

6 Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. Try e.l.f contouring blush and bronzer duo for just $3! (skip the bronzer for a more natural look.)

What is your name and what is it that you do? My name is Alexis Woods and I am an artist. Photography is my main passion and focus. I guess you could describe my work as Fine Art portraiture and Fashion photography. You can find more of my work at https://www.facebook. com/AlexisWoodsPhotography

Do you have any artist inspirations and who are they? I look at hundreds of images everyday and always find something that inspires me. A few photographers that I look up to are Mellissa Rodwell, Nirrimi Joy Firebrace, Zoey Grossman, Alexandra Valenti and Harper Smith.

What is art and how do you define it? Art is that of which is released within the beauty that I see, feel, experience and hear. Things witnessed that leave me awestruck. As if everything beautiful erases some of my fear. The wet hair strewn across the face of a swimming soul. The fireflies random sparks amongst infinitely dark branches that sprawl across a midnight blue sky. Art is what saves me. It saves me from a strange paranoia that creeps in when it feels as if the vast world around me will swallow me whole. All ego stripped and replaced with anxiety and the reality of what I am and where I am. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s a raw and naive existence. Organic sex, blood, bones, and birth. Art is a distraction from all of that. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s a naked vibration of being in which it feels as if the only thing that can save me is my own creativity. Constantly changing and spinning through mediums but never truly seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Photography has always came out on top.

What is the best part about being an artist for you? I love creating worlds within worlds. Set design, props, wardrobe, hair, makeup. Itâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s all a fantastic journey in creating a world that only exists in my imagination, and sharing it with others in hopes that it is just as enchanting for them. Being an artist fills my life with an intense passion, something that I canâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t imagine living without. A passion that has filled my life with purpose. I need to create and shoot to feel alive, to feel excitement, gratification, and happiness. I need it to just be able to breath.

Tell me about this photo set. How did it become what it is? This set which I named Hauntingly Beautiful was originally inspired by Halloween as I shot it in October of last year. It became something more universal. It was a collaboration with elements that naturally pulled together to create something very raw and unique. Anna transformed into what I saw as a wild animal. Organic, beautiful, truthful, and piercing, just like mother nature.

Tamsin Marie Gosselin What is your name and what is it that you do? My name is Tamsin-Marie Gosselin. I am a photographer out of Meriden, CT. My work ranges from family portraits to fine art. My main focus is fine art because of the creative freedom it allows. Do you have any artist inspirations and who are they? I have many artists that inspire me and continually find new artists everyday. Some of my major influences have been Tiffany Ann Photography and Brooke Shaden. One of my most recent artist inspiration discoveries is Aleksandr Villamariona Photography. These photographers have been my main influences because their work continually pushes me to get to the next level with my own work. What is art and how do you define it? I consider art to be anything someone creates that is made to evoke emotion in others. Not everyone sees or understands a piece of art in the same way as the person standing next to them. I think some of the best pieces of art are the ones that mean

something different to everyone who views them. The piece itself is the same but the viewers take their own life experiences and apply them to the piece of art in order to come to their own conclusion of what the art represents. What is the best part about being an artist for you? The best part of being an artist is seeing your ideas come to life and meeting people who share your passion. You may be walking or driving by a place or you see an article of clothing in a store and the ideas start flooding your brain. You want to put those ideas together. Sometimes it is as simple as getting everything together for the shot but sometimes it takes days, weeks and months to complete the idea. After all the hard work you put in seeing the final product and how others react to your work is a wonderful reward. I also enjoy that being an artist gives me the chance to meet so many new people that share a passion as strongly as I do. Without these people most of my work would not be possible. Working with others allows you to achieve things you simply can not achieve on your own and learn things you did not know before. Tell me about this photo set. How did it become what it is? This photo set started with the location. The setting was an abandoned opera house in CT. I loved the feel of the place and thought it would be appropriate to go in the direction of an older shoot. My model, Keri Marie Carlson, had the perfect outfit completed with a handmade headpiece. I wanted to capture her as a performer up on stage and at the same time capture the grandness of the stage. I also wanted to show off the headpiece with a simple portrait full of emotion.

What is your name and what is it that you do? My name is Kaila Piazza and I am a freelance photographer that focuses more on landscape and conceptual themed photographs.

Do you have any artist inspirations and who are they?

I am easily inspired which means inspiration comes from anywhere. Whether it’s from another photographer I admire to something I may see on my way to work, ideas for photographs come in every direction.

What is art and how do you define it?

Art allows us to be creative and express ourselves. It’s a way to convey our therapy. To me, I don’t think it’s simple to define what art is completely, but I like to think that it’s usually defined by the expression or production of something that holds a great amount of significance. Other than taking photographs, being creative and connecting with others is the best part about being an artist. I love to collaborate and gaining different perspectives. I love when people fall in love with the work that I have created, simply because I have created something that someone finds happiness in. I also love the fact that creating is therapeutic for me. It puts me in a world where nothing else matters. Everything I do, from forming a team to snapping photos I admire very greatly, it’s something that I plan to focus on for the rest of my life.

Animal Heads) and Wendy, Solanyel and Tatiana. (model) all were so incredibly amazing to work with and made it a whole lot easier to make my vision come to life. With two of the images here, I wanted to go for a ‘Concrete Jungle’ type of theme where I photograph the models in Downtown Boston with the Animal heads where the attention isn’t just on the model and her animal but the city around them as well. With the other three images, I decided to put all the attention on the model and animal head, so I decided that the location would be at a meadow so she is completely surrounded by nature which is the animals natural habitat. The reason behind having two different locations is because I wanted to convey contrast within the same ‘look (the look being the animal heads) it adds more flavor to the cake and definitely keeps me on my toes. The second set of photos is with a model I work with all the time, her name is Rucely and we are constantly working together to create more visuals and to get better at what we do. We went for a tribal theme this time, Yujeise, founder of Divine Makeup was the MUA for this photo shoot. We did two looks, one with color and one with a dramatic half black face. With this set of photos, I wanted to step out side of all of our comfort zones and get a little ‘weird’ which is why I had her stand in the middle of the street and lick the tree. I’m all about effectiveness and what will make the photo stand out more. What truly made this shoot come to life, is the open mind that all three of us had while shooting. Neither one of us were scared or hesitated to try something different, we were all about getting the perfect shot and in that case, that’s what every photographer needs.

Tell me about this photo set. How did it become what it is?

The set of images here were created on my own. My own vision, the model of my choice and the designer of the animal heads were also involved in my vision. These images wouldn’t have been what they are if connecting wasn’t in the picture. It takes a few moments to introduce yourself to someone and tell them who you are and what you’re trying to do. What is your name and what is it that you do? My name is Jessica Lyles and I’m a barista at Dunkin Donuts. Do you have any artist inspirations and who are they? I love looking at pictures of models and study their technique. But Miss Jennette inspires me the most. With her unique 50’s style. And how she creates art. What is art and how do you define it? Art is the little things in life. That’s just beautiful that most people dont see because they’re too busy with material things. Coming up with different poses and sharing ideas is the best part of being an artist. Helping each other’s mind grow. Tell me about this photo set. How did it become what it is? First of all I have to say about this photo set is it was the second photographer that I worked with and I was so nervous/excited. But once we started communicating it was magic. It was the best time. So if anyone gets a chance to work with Tuck Chaylor I recommend 100%.

What is your name and what is it that you do? Theresa Wall Duggan: Fashion, Beauty and Fine Art Portrait Photographer and owner of Art and Discord Studios. Do you have any artist inspirations and who are they? I have probably more artist inspiration than I could probably list, but in am generally inspired by the painters of the Renaissance and Dutch Golden Age, also photographers such as Tim Walker, Helmut Newton, Paolo Roversi and Melissa Rodwell, Lindsay Adler and Miss Aniela. What is art and how do you define it? I think that art can be many things... Art can be something created for pure aesthetics, it can be created to make the audience think, to challenge their beliefs or current understanding of the universe, it can be created as pure expression without thought to aesthetics or message, but solely to express an important emotion or to expel energy... There are so many definitions of art and I believe all of them are valid.

What is the best part about being an artist for you? The best part is being able to create new worlds, as simple or as complex as I desire them to be. I love being able to spend my time pondering what a different universe might actually look like and figure out how I can create it through wardrobe creations, building sets or finding just the right locations, creating characters that would exist in that world and bringing it all to life. Tell me about this photo set. How did it become what it is? I regularly work with an amazing hair stylist, Nathan Prescott, who works at Trephin Salon in downtown Boston. He came up with this amazing idea based around creating the gigantic hair. We cast these three amazing models and he brought on a makeup artist he works with, Johnnie Pirroni, who created these amazing makeup concepts and we went for it. I love shooting beauty because it allows me to focus on smaller details in a very confined space.
