A BRIEF OVERVIEW ABOUT CAPACITORS AND THEIR SUPPLIERS A passive electrical component that is precisely used for the purpose of “storing electricity in the form of an electrical charge (either positive or negative) through an insulating material is known as capacitor. Some of the very commonly used capacitors are small capacitor beads used in different resonance circuits and large power factors correction electrical capacitors. Irrespective of size and shape, all capacitors perform basic operations, which is to store electricity. Construction of a capacitor It has two parallel conductive plates separated by excellent insulting materials (dielectric materials). DC current cannot flow through the capacitor due to its insulating layer as it blocks the voltage to be present across the plates in the form of an electrical charge. The conductive plates can be cylindrical, circular or rectangular in shape with the insulating layer (dielectric) being air, plastic, waxed paper or some form of a liquid gel.

How capacitors work? Capacitors store two types of electrical charge, which is positive (+ve) charge in the form of protons or negative (-ve) charge in the form of electrons. When a voltage is placed across the electrical component, the positive charge
