VESSEL AND PERSONAL PROTECTION The OLAS Series of products provides a variety of solutions, from overcoming limitations of traditional kill cord systems on power vessels to continuously monitoring crew members on larger or short-handed boats, ensuring immediate overboard alerts. In essence, OLAS, via wearable technology, enhances safety during your time on the water.

OVERBOARD ALARM The OLAS overboard alarm system can monitor up to 25 transmitters and is suitable for vessels up to 125ft in length. Once a tag moves out of the vessel’s proximity, it triggers an alert, and the GPS coordinates of the incident are automatically saved for accurate “return to point of loss” reference.

The specific type of alert generated depends on the OLAS system in use.

All OLAS hubs generate their own internal 85db alarm and activate a powerful red LED, which can serve as emergency lighting.

All OLAS hubs can connect to the OLAS mobile app which issues an overboard alert and logs the GPS location of the “point of loss.”

When using the OLAS N2K, it sends out a NMEA 2000 MOB alert, which can be received and initiated on compatible chart plotters.

SOLO MODE Designed for solo boating activities in regions with 2G cellular network coverage or when offshore and connected to Wi-Fi, the Solo mode is set up to autonomously transmit a text message to a specified recipient, including your location and the time of the incident. In the event of a successful self-rescue, an automated text will be sent to cancel the alert. Solo mode can be activated either through the standalone use of the OLAS mobile app to directly track a tag or when it is linked to any OLAS hub.

CORDLESS ENGINE CUT-OFF A solution to the inflexibility of traditional kill cords, OLAS gives the freedom to move whilst still practicing safe boating.

If the helm falls overboard or is unexpectedly thrown from the vessel, the OLAS hubs internal relay automatically shuts off the engine. The engine can be restarted by anyone remaining on the boat to perform a rescue.

A dedicated Helm tag can be calibrated to shut the engine off at different ranges from hub, offering enhanced protection.

Extend the safety benefits to passengers and crew members by equipping them with separate tags that can also stop the engine if necessary or only activate overboard alarm.

The cordless engine cut-off can be run in parallel with the vessels existing engine kill cord.

Compliance: Many boating authorities require the use of kill switches in specific situations. The OLAS hubs ensures compliance with these regulations, avoiding fines or penalties.

SMART LOCK IGNITION IMMOBILISER A secondary key system, locking the vessels kill switch system to limit the risk of opportunistic theft and restricting use to Smart key holders or those with an access pin number. Any OLAS transmitter can be allocated as a Smart Key within the OLAS app. If the user arrives at the boat with a Smart Key the hub will automatically unlock. If you don’t have an allocated Smart Key with you then the OLAS mobile app can unlock using a custom access pin code.

THE OLAS MOBILE APP: A COMPREHENSIVE SOLUTION FOR SAFETY ENHANCEMENT AND SYSTEM CUSTOMISATION

When it comes to optimising safety and fine-tuning your OLAS system, the OLAS mobile app stands out as an invaluable tool. It not only allows you to configure your OLAS system but also extends its functionality by providing real-time monitoring of tracked OLAS transmitter battery levels.

Furthermore, this app comes equipped with a suite of supplementary features, enabling you to personalise your system with ease. These capabilities include the flexibility to rename tags, allocate Smart Keys, manage Helm and Passenger tags, and activate or deactivate the entire system according to your needs.

In addition to system customisation, the OLAS mobile app boasts extra features that elevate your safety on the water: 1. Track Back and Last Seen Location: With this feature, the OLAS app simplifies the process of guiding rescuers back to the Man Overboard (MOB) location. It offers a user-friendly directional arrow and maintains a detailed distance log for added assistance. Additionally, the app provides the latitude and longitude coordinates of the MOB alert, ensuring effective coordination with rescue services and nearby vessels.

2. Automatic VHF Mayday Information: The app takes the initiative in generating a VHF script that contains vital details about your vessel and the last known location. This feature helps with the issuing of an accurate Mayday call over VHF, significantly enhancing the likelihood of a swift and effective rescue.

SCALABILITY OLAS hubs are suggested for use on boats with a maximum length of 50ft, whether they are powered or sailboats. To expand the suitability to vessels up to 125ft in length, OLAS Extenders can be integrated. A total of three OLAS Extenders can be integrated into the OLAS system. Each Extender extends the linear vessel coverage by an extra 25ft.

The OLAS T2 is a waterproof, compact, rechargeable transmitter which can be tracked by any OLAS Receiver.

Integrated vibration and light indication ensure awareness of the tag status throughout its operation.

For increased versatility the T2 is supplied with a silicone wrist strap, safety-break neck lanyard, pendant holder and belt clip. The T2 can also be used to stop and lock your engines if used with OLAS Smart Lock.

The OLAS tag is a compact, ‘Smart’, man overboard system. It can be easily attached to adults, children, pets and objects such as overboard floatation devices. The tags are tracked by the OLAS Application on a mobile device or via the Core, Guardian and Extender. After seconds of the tag ‘breaking’ connection, the crew are alerted and the MOB rescue screen is activated on the OLAS mobile Application.
