The Abington Scholarship: Offered through The Oxford Foundation ﴾the alumni organization of Oxford College﴿, these merit based scholarships provide up to 50% tuition reduction for full time undergraduate study Recipients must demonstrate strong academic credentials and have proven themselves as leaders within their communities. These scholarships are open to all nationalities. The John S Taylor Memorial Prize: Established by members of Oxford College’s faculty in memory of a beloved colleague, these prizes recognize outstanding achievement by first year undergraduates Each recipient receives £1,000 ﴾$1,550﴿. Applicants must be enrolled full time and demonstrate exceptional academic performance during their first term at university. The Lord Mayor’s Exhibitioner Award: This award is given to UK residents who qualify for entry into Oxford College but who cannot afford to attend without financial assistance It provides three years’ worth of tuition coverage and pays living expenses during those three years as well. Students do not need to apply separately; they simply need to meet admission standards and register for classes upon acceptance into college The Mayflower Women’s Association Student Bursary: Women from around the world can apply for one of two bursaries offered by The Mayflower Women’s Association. The Chevening Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship funded by UK government and is open to applicants from over 180 countries Awarded on academic merit, it aims to bring future leaders from around the world to study at postgraduate level at UK universities The standard award includes an annual stipend of £15,000 ﴾in 2016/17﴿, return airfare, shared accommodation and other allowances. Up to two Chevening scholars are elected per year through a highly competitive process which includes an assessment of academic achievement and leadership potential All awards made through Chevening are four year scholarships; as such they cover your entire masters program with no break in funding halfway through your studies. If you choose to study full time you will receive £20,000 per year.
Another UK scholarship for international students worth considering is Lord Leverhulme’s Trust MSc Project Scholarship Programme It supports top class UK/EU postgraduates onto projects that benefit rural communities in developing economies. A degree classification of 2:1 or above is required, but successful candidates could still be awarded up to £5,500 towards their project costs ﴾see page 27﴿
