ABOUT ALULA Located 300 km north of AlMedina, AlUla Governorate is one of the wonders of the ancient world and an essential site for humanitarian and natural heritage. ABOUT ENDURANCE CUP The Endurance Cup is one of the most prominent international sporting events in AlUla season. Over 200 riders are participating in the tournament’s third year for prizes worth 15 million Saudi riyals (4.2 million U.S. dollars), making it one of the most significant events in the world of endurance racing.

The two-star classification race, recognized by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, covers a distance of 120 km, over four loops that require an average of eight hours to complete, through the magnificent and breathtaking landscapes of the historic AlUla region.

The Endurance Cup, which is one of the most prestigious competitions in the world, attracts the best riders from the world.

ABOUT ENDURANCE Five things you need to know if you are an Endurance novice: 1. Endurance is like taking on an ultra-marathon. It is physically and mentally demanding for the horse and rider, and challenges both to the peak of their ability.

3. The winner of the race is the first to cross the line and have his horse passed as in ‘fit condition’ by the veterinarian. However, it is often cited by the riding community that ‘to finish is to win’ in Endurance racing.

2. Competitors are required to stop at regular points on the course to pass veterinary checks, and a vet completion record is required in order to finish the race. It is essential that riders work in partnership with their horses to be successful in Endurance racing.

4. Arabian Horses are the horse of choice for Endurance riding due to their stamina and versatility. You can identify Arabian Horses by the distinctive shaped of their head.

5. Although the rides are timed, the emphasis is on having a horse finish in the best condition possible, so preparation for the race is key.

PROGRAM PRE RIDE INSPECTION DAY 28 JANUARY 2022 - Official briefing at 1pm at the Fursan village - Vet check according to the scheduled time: • European horses 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm • GCC horses 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm • Other countries 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm • KSA horses 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm - Rider briefing at 5:00 pm at the Fursan village

COMPETITION DAY 29 JANUARY 2022 - Breakfast for officials and riders at 6:00 am at the Fursan village - Race starts at 7:00 am - Prize ceremony 2:00 - 3:30 pm for the 3 winners

RACE TRACK This competition is CEI2* FEI sanctioned Endurance Horse Competition titled “The Custodian of The Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup” Distance is 120 km, there are 4 loops: that varies in distance as per the below: • Loop 1: 37.7km • Loop 2: 31.6km • Loop 3: 28.0km • Loop 4: 22.7km

FURSAN CUP INCLUSIONS FOR RIDERS - Food and beverage during the day of the event.

- Horses airport transportation in AlUla, to/ from the stables in the Equestrian Village site.

- Up keeping of the horses in the Equestrian Village stables (water, feed, hay and shavings).

FURSAN CUP EXCLUSIONS FOR RIDERS - Accommodations in AlUla and during transit flights if any.

- Transportation in AlUla and during transit if any.

- Vehicles to access crew points on the endurance track.

- Any supplements, special feed, and necessary equipment for the endurance cup.

- Any additional requirements not stated in this communication.
