BUILDING BRICKS The Future of Retail When lockdown began and shops were instructed to close their doors on March 23, retail was hit with an unprecedented wave of challenge and uncertainty. For three full months, popular high-street chains, as well as department stores and indie retailers, lay dormant. For many business owners this meant re-structuring overnight, with many quickly rolling out an e-commerce strategy. E-commerce is not a new concept, as we’ve all come to appreciate the convenience and ease of online shopping. However, it has so far been a slow and steady transition from decades of shopping on the Great British High Street. That was, of course, until Covid-19 swept in, and blew any notions of a natural migration out of the water. In the words of John Lewis Partnership chairman Sharon White: “The pandemic has brought forward changes in consumer shopping habits – what might have taken five years has happened in five months.” OPEN FOR BUSINESS There is no denying that the pandemic has disrupted how we shop, and the number of transactions made online has increased. This has in turn created a wave of negative headlines about the demise of traditional retail, which was already an increasingly contentious subject, pre-virus. Statistics (according to a recent Forbes study) suggest that 58% of people will continue to avoid crowds and 46% will spend less time inside stores. But the transformation of how we shop is in danger of being exaggerated. Even at peak penetration, purchases made online only actually accounted for 27.7% of all retail sales. Even in the current climate, it seems that as soon as lockdowns cease, shoppers are heading back to stores. BLURRED LINES The conversation surrounding the impact of digital on retail and the fall of bricks and mortar stores is not new. While evidence would suggest that ‘going online’ is key

Evidence shows that the pandemic is not dividing retail but bringing online and physical strategies more in line for survival in 2020 and beyond, physical retail is perhaps in better health than many would have us believe. Many digitally native brands, like Bonobos, Glossier, Casper, and Warby Parker might have started online, but they, and others like them, are now expanding their physical presence. Real estate experts predict that digitally native brands will open 850 brickand-mortar stores in the next five years. THE PERFECT PAIRING It’s easy to forget that consumer relationship with online brands is, in part, conditioned by experiences within physical stores. Onlineonly retailers, in fact, face tough challenges with customer acquisition and loyalty. Ray Harthjen, Marketing Director at in-store analytics experts RetailNext commented on the topic: “It isn’t simply a trend; it’s become necessary for survival.” Lots of brands are feeling the urge to open worldwide brick-and-mortar locations simply because the cost of customer acquisition when operating solely online is far too high.

In turn, online brands have taught the old-school retailers that the e-commerce experience is just as essential to their strategy as storefronts. That has led to a blurring of channels across the market, from fashion to tech and even wholesale. Shopping journeys go through a variety of touch points, in which both digital and physical significant roles. Brands need to be nimble and responsive to shopper needs, to deliver seamless, friction-free paths for their customers to navigate. According to Greg Chapman, Senior Vice President at sales tax company Avalara, ‘We’ll continue to see marketplaces and traditional retailers converge...marketplaces like Amazon are moving to forms of traditional retail’. Viewed in this light, recent headlines may have missed the point: the pandemic is not dividing retail; it is actually bringing online and physical retail closer. This reflects how the consumer has always viewed retail: not as separate channels, but as one market.

8. STUDY SHOWS GAMING CAN BENEFIT WELL-BEING A study compiled by researchers at Oxford University has found that playing video games can be good for mental health. The study, which focused on Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons and EA’s Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, complied data on how long the 3,274 participants played for (rather than just gamer estimates, as used in previous studies) and compared them to a survey of player’s opinions on their experiences. Prof Andrew Przybylski, lead researcher in the study, says that while playing Animal Crossing cannot alone make someone happy, the study did find that ‘If you play Animal Crossing for four hours a day, every single day, you’re likely to say you feel significantly happier than someone who doesn’t’. Play-time was a small but significant positive factor, going against the idea that prolonged gaming can lead to aggression and addiction. The researchers did, however, find that subjective experiences within the games, as well as social elements of the games, had notable effects on the mental well-being of players. For many, this study won’t come as a surprise. Animal Crossing surged in popularity this year, as even nongamers turned to the quaintness of the game to slow down and de-stress.

2020 – THE YEAR IN TECH Is COVID-19 leading to a new digital revolution? 2020 is the year most of us would love to forget...but it wasn’t all doom and gloom! We highlight some of the most innovative releases of the year and report on how digital came into its own in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis Never has the old adage ‘necessity is the mother of invention’ been truer than in 2020. All facets of society, from healthcare and government, to retail and corporations, were forced to adapt daily operations as coronavirus made us rely on online services and the latest technology more than ever. When people started working from home, demand for cloud computing soared, while video conferencing platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom soon became part of our everyday lives. In April this year, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that following the outbreak of COVID-19, the company had seen the equivalent of two years’ worth of digital transformation, in just two months.

Due to the pandemic, more than half of respondents shop online more frequently, and rely more heavily on the internet for news, health-related information and digital entertainment, the survey showed.

According to a recent survey aptly entitled ‘COVID-19 and e-Commerce’ (conducted by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development – UNCTAD – and Netcomm Suisse e-Commerce Association), the pandemic will prove to have changed online shopping forever.

So, other than cloud computing flying high, and streaming and video conferencing services reporting record numbers of users, what were the big tech stories of 2020? Here’s our essential guide to the year in consumer electronics and entertainment.

The study of roughly 3,700 consumers in nine countries highlighted how COVID-19 accelerated the shift towards a more digital world and triggered changes in online shopping behaviour that are likely to have lasting effects.

CES Back in January, when the world was a very different place and international travel and tradeshows were still the norm, most of the major tech brands headed to Las Vegas to take the wraps off their latest CE products.

Korean electronics giants LG and Samsung unveiled a slew of new TVs: the former announced 14 new OLED models, including its ‘art-inspired’ GX Gallery 4H UHD series, 88in and 77in ‘Real 8K’ TVs, as well as the world’s first 48in OLED TV (OLED48CX), while the latter debuted its MicroLED and QLED 8K TVs in a wide range of screen sizes, spanning 75in, 88in, 93in, 110in and a whopping 150in screen. The Samsung bezel-less Q950TS QLED was said to be the first 8K TV in the industry to combine an ultra-thin form factor with an ‘Infinity Screen’. The model is only 15mm deep and is able to use up to 99% of the screen. How about that for 2020 vision? Samsung also used CES to give us a glimpse of the future by introducing us to its small and cute tennis ball-like personal care robot called Ballie – if the name fits, eh? The AIpowered gadget rolls about the house and responds to users’ needs: it can activate smart home devices, like robotic vacuums when it can tell that cleaning is required. One of the weirdest gizmos on show at CES was Charmin’s RollBot. This Bluetooth robot is designed to deliver a roll of toilet

paper to you while you’re sat on the loo – however, that’s assuming you’re able to get hold of any, what with all the panic-buying going on in 2020… ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS March saw the arrival of Animal Crossing: New Horizons – the biggest launch of any Switch game in the UK. By November this year, the cute life simulation game was on course to be Nintendo’s best-selling title of all time. Nintendo’s latest results show that New Horizons sold over 14 million copies in the first half of the Japanese financial year, which means it could overtake Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. The race is on!

Xbox Series X/S, and with PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, these powerful accessories really take gaming to the next level. SAMSUNG TERRACE TV After being locked down for so long, most of us craved some quality outdoor entertainment. Samsung had the perfection solution: the Terrace. A QLED 4K HDR 2000 outdoor smart TV which, thanks to its weather-resistant design and anti-reflection screen technology, makes TV viewing outside the house as immersive as

NURALOOP Proving it’s in tune with the latest craze for personalising tech products, back in May, innovative audio brand Nura incorporated its award-winning sound technology into a pair of lightweight, compact and portable Active Noise Cancellation(ANC) headphones called NuraLoop. The product automatically learns how you hear and, in roughly one minute, it cleverly adapts the sound output to deliver an experience that’s tailored to the user. This means you experience depth and detail like never before so music will never sound the same again. SONOS ARC During lockdown, many consumers decided to improve their home entertainment, and some turned to soundbars to upgrade the audio on their TV. In June, Sonos made a big noise when it announced its first Dolby Atmos soundbar – the Sonos Arc. Designed to provide immersive audio for TV, films, music and gaming, the Sonos Arc has a slim profile and can be discreetly wall-mounted, or placed on furniture. It has Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant builtin, so users can play music, check news, set alarms and get their questions answered, all completely hands-free. TURTLE BEACH GAMING HEADSETS In September, gaming and audio accessory brand Turtle Beach launched its Stealth 700 and Stealth 600 Gen 2 gaming headsets for Xbox and PlayStation. With a premium build, a sleek look and cross-generation console compatibility with Xbox One and

WATCHDOGS: LEGION Welcome to London – masssurveillance, private military controlling the streets and organised crime; as if this year hasn’t been bad enough... Luckily for us, this is London in the future, rather than 2020, and it’s the setting for Ubisoft’s Watchdogs: Legion game for Xbox Series X/S. Players can join forces with up to three friends online and form a resistance movement to take on a powerful crime syndicate preying on the vulnerable. XBOX SERIES X|S November was the month that nextgeneration gaming truly came into its own. Long-awaited by gamers the world over, last month saw the launches of both the Xbox Series X – renowned as the fastest, most powerful Xbox console – and the Xbox Series S, the smallest, sleekest Xbox ever – a next-gen, all-digital console at an accessible price: £249.99.

the indoor experience. It’s available in 55in, 65in and 75in versions. Chat show queen Oprah Winfrey even named it as a musthave item in her ‘Favourite Things’ annual holiday shopping guide. FIFA 21 Sport has had a tough time this year, but October kicked off with the launch of the FIFA 21 football simulation video game for Xbox, PlayStation, Microsoft Windows, and Nintendo Switch. With the 28th instalment in the popular FIFA series, players can get involved with the journey to the UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul, Turkey.

ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA Ubisoft’s latest instalment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was released worldwide in mid-November, across platforms including Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation and Windows PC, plus a range of gaming streaming services.

IPHONE 12 Apple’s big news for October 2020 was the announcement of its feature-packed iPhone 12, with a colourful OLED screen, upgraded camera, a new design and 5G and MagSafe connectivity for wireless charging. Apple’s latest flagship doesn’t come with a charger or headphones, so there’s a plenty of great accessories opportunities for retailers.

The game is based around Eivor, a fierce Viking raider, and is set against the brutal backdrop of England’s Dark Ages. Players can build up their power in a quest to earn a place among the gods in Valhalla – the afterlife that brave warriors are destined for in Norse mythology. It’s an epic saga that brings to a close what’s been an eventful year, in more ways than one.

SEASON’S DEFEATINGS From the ever-popular MOBA and first-person shooters to in-vogue battle royales, games with a battle element continue to dominate the market Globally popular, games that include a battle element dominate the market. While there’s been a rise in gaming overall this year, battle or otherwise – with the shock success coming from the latest instalment in Nintendo’s Animal Crossing franchise – most battle game categories saw a significant rise in player numbers over the last 12 months. The biggest gaming genre internationally, by number of players, is MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena). Including evergreen titles such as League of Legends and Dota 2, teams of players, each with unique skills and characteristics, battle head-to-head in realtime with the aim of crossing the battlefield and destroying the opponent’s structure while protecting their own home base. A BATTLE OF WITS Action-adventure games cleverly blend many of core elements of both genres, combining the physical skills and movement of action games, with the storyline and player progression found in adventure games. In other words, as players move through the game, their actions trigger a line of events, that influence the story.

Ubisoft’s upcoming release Immortals Fenyx Rising combines action with adventure and story. Players assume on the role of Fenyx, a winged demigod, and embark on a quest, battling mythical beasts, mastering legendary powers and ultimately aiming to save the Greek Gods from a dark curse.

12

RPGs see players assume the role of a character within the fictional world, usually through a range of structured decisions, which progresses the character in different ways towards the end goal. Often, role-playing games also offer the chance to personalise the character in question, which helps to create a stronger link between the character and the player, giving for a more immersive gaming experience. In Nintendo’s Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, players return to the world of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – with well-known characters such as Link and Zelda – to face oncoming enemy armies and fight to save Hyrule. Featuring an in-depth story told through action-packed gameplay and voiced cutscenes, players delve back into the familiar franchise for an exciting new experience. Shooters are generally considered a sub-genre of action-adventure video games. In firstperson shooters such as Overwatch or Halo, and third-person shooters like the Gears of War franchise, players find themselves in the midst of the action testing their speed, agility, reflexes and spatial awareness – both in single player and multiplayer, collaborative, settings. According to gaming analysts, NewZoo, shooter games increased their PC player share by 40% between December 2019 and March 2020, making it the second-biggest genre. Increasing in popularity over the last couple of years, especially with titles like Fortnite, battle royale games blend several classic genres with a last-man-standing format. Taking players online into large-scale multiplayer battlegrounds, gamers typically have to work strategically to be the last one (or team) standing. Battle royales also grew in player numbers during the early part of 2020, with a 17% increase between December 2019 and March 2020.

CHARACTER BUILDING An action-adventure series at heart, the Assassin’s Creed franchise from Ubisoft has transitioned over time into a popular RPG. The latest instalment, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, continues this move, enabling story progression through a series of structured decisions, character personalisation and freeworld exploration. Players are also given the choice of a male or female protagonist, as found in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (2018). Monster Hunter Rise – coming to Nintendo Switch in 2021 – takes players into a world inspired by ancient Japan where the aim is to battle terrifying beasts and become the ultimate monster hunter. Without loading screens between each combat area, players have the ability to navigate the environment much more freely for greater immersion. DIGITAL CITIZENS Today’s little ones are already living in the future The benefits for kids using tech products are countless, so we look at how parents can safely embrace technology and get their little ones ready for the digital future

However, lots of parents will contest...the tech isn’t always the danger, sometimes it is the other way around! Exertis distributes hundreds of protective cases, designed to defend against drops and bumps and still ensure devices fit perfectly in small hands. With many of the recent devices becoming more lightweight and fragile, it’s important to protect them from bumps and falls.

2020 has been the year of the smartphone. Yes, we were all pretty hooked pre-COVID, but screen-time has been on a steady incline this year. Whether it’s been staying in touch with our loved ones, or just simply keeping ourselves entertained, we’re even more addicted than ever before. However, the question everyone is asking is: How is all this affecting our children? And what’s the impact of technology on our young people? Research reveals that 95% of teens either have a smartphone or access to one. Furthermore, 54% of teens aged 13-17 worry that they spend too much time on their phones while 56% report feeling anxious, lonely or upset whenever they’re away from their phones. EMBRACING THE FUTURE There is certainly a lot of negative hype amongst the headlines, but the fact is technology is here to stay, and when used responsibly, children can really benefit from early exposure. Not only can technology help to promote creativity and freedom of expression, it can also aid socialisation and even encourages problem solving. A survey by Erikson Institute found that an overwhelming 85 percent of parents allow their children under age 6 to use gadgets at home, and 86 percent of parents surveyed said they found benefits for their young children’s tech usages, including literacy, school readiness and school success. Perhaps the most important factor in encouraging our young people to grow in digital fluency is that jobs in the tech field, from coding to game design and so much more, are in huge demand, and this trend is only expected to continue. No one cares

20

more about their child’s well-being and success than a parent, and this means not only guiding them in the real world, but also preparing them to be digital citizens. This is also big business; market research giant Gartner Inc. forecasts that in 2021, 30% of worldwide smartwatch shipments will be attributable to those devices aimed at children between 2 and 13 years old. KEY TO SUCCESS Research shows that whilst technology can have positive effects on child development; it is important to have balance. Google and Apple are starting to address this growing concern about tech taking over our lives by adding new phone features such as time limits for specific apps (for Android) and statistics on time spent on devices (for iOS). The same applies to children. Products like the Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Edition tablet appeal to parents, as it allows them to limit screen time, plan educational goals, set curfews and manage the content that the little ones can access and are shown.

Research shows that while technology can have positive effects on child development, it is important to encourage balance Not only does tech offer kids lots of fun and excitement, it also promotes knowledge and the development of life skills, essential as they go through school and into their adult lives – particularly logic, coding, and critical thinking. The Kano Frozen 2 Coding kit allows children to use their hands and minds to create an interactive story set in the work of Disney’s beloved Frozen Franchise. Technology is opening up a world of possibility for little ones and parents want in. Exertis is here to assist you and can offer a wide range of gadgets and accessories that will be safe in tiny hands!

HEADS-UP! Headphones should be high up on everyone’s Christmas list this year: they’re perfect for casual consumers, techies and audiophiles alike. We sound out the market and look at some of the latest over-ear models – sure to satisfy even the hardest person to buy for Just like a real deep bassline, the headphones market is booming. This has been driven by the huge rise in smartphone ownership and the phenomenal uptake of streaming services. By the end of 2025, it is predicted that there’ll be over 2.6 billion consumers across the world regularly streaming music via their phones. Whether they’re being used on the morning commute – although currently that might just be a short walk to the spare bedroom – or providing a soundtrack to a daily exercise routine, headphones are one of the hottest categories in consumer electronics (CE). Just look at the sheer amount of lockdown TV interviews that featured wireless earbuds… GROWTH The international earphones and headphones market was valued at £19 billion globally last year. This trend is expected to continue, with more than 13% growth predicted between 2019 and 2025. Noise cancelling and True Wireless are the two headphone product categories enjoying the most growth. In the same period, the True Wireless sector is predicted to increase by 20%, while, by 2026, global shipments of headphones will hit one billion units. The recent revelation from Apple that its new iPhone 12 doesn’t come with headphones in the box means there’s a huge opportunity for retailers, especially when it comes to top True Wireless models. “True Wireless has become a phenomenon in 2020 and now accounts for two-thirds of total market turnover,” says Nick Simon, client insights director at market research agency GfK. UNIQUE Personalisation is one of the biggest trends in the consumer tech market. Nura’s awardwinning Nuraphone wireless Bluetooth headphones (£349) are a world-first as they

True Wireless is the real winners of 2020 and now accounts for two-thirds of total market turnover automatically learn and adapt to the user’s hearing to deliver a unique, personalised listening experience. Once Nuraphone has created your hearing profile – this takes around 60 seconds – they sonically shape your music, so that it matches your hearing and delivers all the detail of the tracks you love. AUDIOPHILES The Philips Fidelio X3 wired, over-ear, openback headphones (£299) are designed with audiophiles in mind, offering a wide, natural soundstage and feather-light comfort. With a leather/metal premium finish, the Fidelio X3 headphones are good looking and spectacular sounding. These cool cans have double-layered ear shells to reduce resonance and vibration, and the neodymium drives are engineered to tilt at 15 degrees, so as to fit the natural geometry of the ear. This helps to ensure optimal accuracy at high frequencies.

There’s nothing more frustrating than when you are listening to your favourite music, and the only soundtrack you can hear is the noisy outside world. With active noise cancellation there’s no more noise, just music. NOISE CANCELLING KitSound’s Immerse 75 wireless headphones with active noise-cancelling (£79.99) have an impressive 15 hours play time when you use the noise-cancelling function, ideal for a long journey or a serious listening session. They are also equipped with integrated voice activation for Siri and Google, and come in a sleek design, including an ultra-fashionable rose gold colour scheme. With Christmas on the way, headphones are an ideal stocking filler, or perfect for that customer who just wants to treat themselves – especially after the difficult year we’ve all had. Either way, headphones are certainly music to retailers’ ears this festive season.

O, CHRISTMAS TREE An Automated Little Christmas Oh the weather outside is frightful, but your smart home is so delightful…

There are few things better than coming in from the cold, or a hard day’s Christmas shopping, to a twinkling array of Christmas decorations… however, we all know that the reality is rather indelicately clambering behind the tree, fumbling around in search of the plug socket to turn on said twinkly lights. By automating the decorations this Christmas, you can leave the spiky pine needles alone and welcome the festive feeling as if living in a Hallmark movie. With a combination of clever voice assistant integration, smart plugs and a tiny sprinkling of high-tech know-how, it’s easy to automate the Christmas tree, utilising classic fairy lights or even pre-lit Christmas trees.

HARK! THE VOICE ASSISTANTS SING We’ve all come to know that by integrating voice assistants into the home we can learn whether we’ll need an umbrella or check out a playlist of the festive classics, but integrating them into a wider smart home setup is truly as perfect a combination as mistletoe and wine.

The Plug is controlled via the SmartThings app for iOS and Android or even through Samsung’s smart TV range. Compatibility with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Samsung’s Bixby voice assistant means you don’t even need to lift a finger.

Once the festivities are over for another year, and we put 2020 behind us, both the Samsung SmartThings Plug and the TCP Smart Wi-Fi Plug are easy to re-position and integrate into the home another way – for example, putting the kettle on while contemplating getting out of bed during those frosty January mornings.

The Google Home Mini is compatible with over 200 smart devices from across 50 of the most popular brands, so by pairing with smart bulbs or plugs, it’s easy to turn on the decorations and give the home a festive glow with a few simple voice commands. Ideal for families, the little ones can join in without the fear of knocking off baubles or sending angels flying. POWER UP The Samsung SmartThings Plug helps with the integration of electronics, such as tree lights and Christmas decorations, into a wider SmartThings ecosystem. By utilising

MORE SPEED, LESS HASTE Why spend hours charging a device when it could be ready to go in a fraction of the time? Many smartphones users aren’t making the most of fast-charging. We look at some of the best options on the market, to help your customers get the most from their devices Fast charging is a term used to refer, quite simply, to chargers (and devices themselves) which are capable of charging at a rate higher than the standard. As a general rule, this is achieved by increasing the wattage delivered to the device during charging. Broadly speaking, modern smartphones charge via a USB connection, whether thats USB-C or USB to Lightning, etc. However, the different USB specifications can deliver differing levels of voltage. Because of this, a lot of smart devices tend to default to the standard rate of charging delivered by USB 2.0, making for a slower charging speed. Fast chargers purposely exceed these limits, using a higher voltage to increase the watt output (current x voltage = watts). This then produces a higher max power, so a device can charge in minutes, rather than hours. It’s a common mistake made by consumers that a fast charger will still work to the full effect when paired with the original phone charging cable, but this is not always the case. By offering a wide range of innovative fast charging solutions, retailers can help their customers to really cut down the time their smartphones are on charge, meaning they can get back to scrolling through the internet in no time! Different smartphone manufacturers often have varied means of implementing smart charging into their devices – not usually something the general consumer will be very knowledgeable about. However, while not universally the case, the benefit of the majority of the fast chargers on the market is their compatibility, working across all manner of smartphones from Samsung and LG to Apple and Huawei.

By offering a wide range of innovative fast charging solutions, retailers can help their customers really cut down the time their smartphones are on charge GOOD THINGS COME IN THREES… Perfect for boosting the battery of an entire Samsung ecosystem, the Samsung Wireless Trio has room to charge three devices at once, delivering fast charging with up to 9W of power to devices (including 7.5W to compatible iPhones) – even through cases. that smartphone, earbuds or smartwatch – and power up. A dedicated spot for Galaxy watches even guides the timepiece onto the right spot for the most reliable charge. LED lights are used to illustrate the charging status (ie. red for charging, green for fully charged) while a clever dimmer mean they won’t disturb sleep when the charging pad is positioned on bedside table. A slender form and minimalistic design – using simple icons alongside the neat LED accents – ensures the Wireless Trio charging pad fits seamlessly into the home.

The Belkin BoostCharge Pro MagSafe 3-in-1 Wireless Charger utilises Apple’s MagSafe technology for an ultra-convenient wireless charging solution for iPhone, Apple Watch and Airpods (via the wireless charging case). Optimised for iPhone 12, Pro and Pro Max, this wireless charger can deliver up to 15W for the fastest possible charge. Magnetic alignment ensures that the device is correctly positioned for the best possible charge, while the MagSafe connection also allows for charging in either landscape or portrait orientation, so the device can still be used to the best of its capabilities – from messaging to streaming – while charging. An architectural design and stainless-steel premium finish is tailored to compliment the design of Apples’ new flagship models. HEART OF THE HOME Families spend an average of 90 minutes each day in the kitchen between cooking, socialising and making copious cups of tea, and staying connected at the same is a must for many. The Wall Mounted Wireless

Charger from Kit Accessories is designed specifically with the kitchen in mind – mounting charging solutions on the wall to keep counters clear and cables tidy. Dual 10W wireless charging pads means that two devices can benefit from fast charging technology at once, while a hidden USB-A port and cable tidy means that charging non-Qi enabled smartphones and tablets is just as easy and clutter-free.

The benefit of the majority of the fast chargers available is their compatibility, working across manufacturers, from Samsung and LG to Apple and Huawei

Designed to be installed in under a minute, attaching simply to wall plug sockets, this sleek charging solution fits seamlessly into the décor of almost any kitchen, and the sturdy angled viewing platform means the smartphone or tablet remains visible and accessible during charging. This is great for anyone checking recipes, skipping through playlists and catching up on Netflix while cooking up a storm in the kitchen. FLAT (POWER) PACKED Compatible with all Qi-enabled smartphones, including models from Apple, Samsung and Huawei, the Rapoo XC145 Wireless Charging Pad is designed to simply deliver fast-charging without the interruptions and inconvenience of copious cables. The compact, lightweight design of the XC145 even makes it ideal for taking to-and-from the office, as well as the perfect travelling companion. Packed with all the essential protection to keep the smartphone and user safe, the XC145 charging pad cleverly prevents overcurrent, over-voltage, short circuiting, plus thermal protection to protect against overheating. Foreign object detection further stabilised the charging process by detecting metal around the charger (like coins, bank cards, etc), which can unbalance the wireless charging reliability.

The Anker Wireless Stand PowerWave+ can deliver up to 10W of fast charging to Qienabled smartphones, including a max 7.5W to iPhones 8 and newer, and the full 10W to devices such as Samsung Note10 and S20. Compatible with most modern smartphones, with or without a case, this charger utilises multiple charging coils, so that devices can be positioned in either portrait or landscape orientation. Anker’s MultiProtect technology ensure surge protection, temperature control and more advanced safety features, keeping both users and smart devices safe while charging and removing from the dock. After all the unknown of 2020, by stocking a wide range of fast chargers, retailers can help their customers get 2021 off with a full tank.
